The Golden Girls....

A lot of people know that I like to stay up late to watch The Golden Girls...I usually only have to watch 30 seconds or less to know what the episode is about. I have seen them that many times. But lately I have seen the show that should have this scene in it twice, and it has been cut out both times. To make room for more commercials I am sure. I don't care when I see it, it still makes me laugh. It is probably my favorite scene of all the shows, so I decided to share it with you...though in all honesty I may have shown it before.

Roger mowed the yard today....it really did need it. He was not doing it just to have something to do. It was actually so hot, he was glad when he was done. I never did check our thermometer but Weatherbug said it was 84ยบ at one time. That is kind of hot for April 1. Not that I am complaining...no indeed.

We sat outside and had coffee this morn...Roger had a bacon&lettuce sandwich and I had coffee with a side of bacon. I am not kidding. Bacon and coffee are the best combination ever. Toast ruins the effect. Try it sometime. Roger has tried it but doesn't taste the same thing I taste. Or else he would not have another bacon and lettuce sandwich...at least not until we have tomatoes fresh from our own garden to go with it. I will probably choose that when it is available, but until then, it is bacon only and coffee.

Sarah called this evening...to let us know that her husband did get a new job offer. His job he is at now will be ending shortly. It is about an hour away...so they may end up moving. Even though that is not as easy as now to go see them, it is not that horrible either. Much better than if they had to move to Utah or Washington State.

  1. Yeah for a new job!

I love the Golden Girls and I hate that I stay up because I'm ready for sleep at 9. I like Monday evenings because they're on all evening long on WE, I think. Anyway, I hadn't thought about it, but I recognize now that this is cut out. What a shame that they can't just keep them as they were.

Bob said yesterday that it will be time to mow the yard soon.

  4. I'm glad your son-in-law got a new job offer, even if it does mean they will have to move further away. But I'm sure you'll find a way to see Lorelei on a regular basis if they do move. I always enjoyed Golden Girls -- I think Betty White was (and is) just fabulous.

  5. I "Tape" it using our cable DVR service. Oh, I laughed so much and I remember this, too. I began watching this show before I had children, yet I found it comforting, like family in my home besides loving comedy. And now that I'm gaining in years, it still is so entertaining. (I was devastated when two of the actresses died.)

  6. Initially, I never watched the Golden Girls...thought it was a rather dumb show. Then later, when it was syndicated and in re-runs, I began to watch and got hooked. Now a couple of my favorite actresses have passed, but they were wonderful comediennes!

  7. Wonderful about the new job!

That was a very funny skit, Rose. I don't think I have ever seen that one before...but I don't watch very much TV.

  8. Hi Rose, I used to watch the Golden Girls too... There aren't many shows like that anymore.

It was hot here today also... Felt like summer.

I love bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches... Think I'm more like your hubby on this one. BUT--I also don't like tomatoes until we can get some homegrown, fresh ones!!! YUM!

Glad Sarah and family won't be moving too far. Glad also that he was able to get another job so quickly --with this economy problem. Praise God!!!!

    Have a blessed Easter weekend.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  9. It was warm here today too. 90 degrees. Quite hot for this time of year! Not as humid as when we normally see 90 degree weather here (in July/August) but the sun was very bright and intense.
