Between frequent trips to Indianapolis Roger has been busy. This is latest creation....he made it for Lorelei's dad.
This knife really has a nice feel to it....the wood for the handles is African Padauk. It is an an excellent hardwood with straight grain...it hard, heavy and resists decay.
Hi Rose, Roger is so talented --when it comes to making knives. Has he ever sold them to businesses--or is it just a hobby for him?????
ReplyDeleteTell him that I'm impressed.
Enjoy your little precious one.
Hugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteThat's really beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteThis knife is truly beautiful. Roger is an artist as well as a craftsman.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful handle! I'm always very impressed by his ability to make these!
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeletePadauk is beautiful. My husband uses it to turn spindles for hand spinners.
ReplyDeleteI like the excellent level of craftsmanship needed to produce such a fine looking knife. That would be a prize and heritage item for anyone lucky enough to come by an example.
ReplyDeleteRoger is an artisan/craftsman! Being a one-time minor knife collector, this would be a treasure!
ReplyDeleteAnd a very Merry Christmas to you and your entire family, Rose. We wish you also a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
We both have much to be thankful for, right?
