I thought I would show a different photo of the goldfinch we were following the other day.  He did have a lady friend that he was with.
**************
We watched Iron Lady tonight.  I seem to end up feeling that so many movies are good, yet something is lacking or I want something more.  I know I felt like that about War Horse...I liked it but was really disappointed at the same time.  It as if there is no real meat to the stories.  I wonder if I am the only one that feels that way.

Or do you notice how so many of the newer movies has the noise so loud, one cannot hear what the characters are saying?  I get to thinking it is me losing my hearing, but then I see older movies and I don't have that problem.

I have been sitting watching the first season of Taxi...so far, Jim (Christopher Lloyd) has not made an appearance.  I can still watch the following video any time and laugh...notice how he wets the end of the pencil before he begins to write.  I must say this is one of the funniest bits ever....
I have shown this before but might as well put it on here...maybe someone new will see it and enjoy it.

  1. such a brilliant yellow little finch. beautiful. yes i have noticed the noise level in newer movies. i think they are aiming at the younger generaton, the music they listen to is so loud and the games they play are loud, i find the newer movies and i say it that way because i dont go to theaters, but wait for them to come on Tv. but any thing made after 2000 seems that way. and they do the jump forward and back in time and drive me crazy.

  2. Very nice Goldfinch photo! I've had a bunch of them hanging around my feeders. It's been a long time since I've watched Taxi...always thought it was funny :-)

  3. I don't think I ever missed an episode!! But I had to watch this...they were all so young!! I also notice this with T.V., we will turn up the T.V. really, really loud, and sill can't understand what they are saying! I think we may be going deaf, Phil is going for a hearing exam...

  4. I just watched something (I can't recall) and the music was truly so loud there was no understanding the dialogue. I'm in my mid-40s and have ears like a hawk, so I know it isn't me.

  5. Sometime I think I'm losing my hearing too. I rarely see a movie I like anymore. I think many of the story lines are week.
