Early birds....

For some reason, this iris has been blooming for about a week.  It is weeks ahead of all the others.
I suppose the reason they are early is that they have migrated to being right against the house.  Whatever the reason, I am enjoying it.
So frilly and pretty.  Always makes me think of a princess dressed for the ball.

We have rain in the forecast....it has rained enough to make everything damp.  And the temps are cooler than yesterday.  I am not sure what to do with the day.  It would be a good day to go to the greenhouse to see if we can find more brandywine tomato plants...and we may do that, but I have gotten till I just love to be home.

I have been sitting here watching a pair of cardinals.  I wonder if they have a nest.  The male has been feeding the female.  If I have seen that before I don't remember it. I think it is too early for babies, but maybe she is getting ready to lay her eggs.

It is time for me to be getting off here.  Time I decide on something to do.  I do have fabric coming today.  I have enough crumb blocks made to make another crumb quilt top.  This time I am using gray in it....

not even buds on our iris yet, only the daffodils blooming.

Love the colour of that iris.

Beautiful flower shots. I like the vivid color and unique pattern of the petals. They must like the extra warmth or reflection of the house.

I have some purple irises, but these put mine to shame! I just adore the purple and while...and the way the edges are laced with purple....it does look like a dress the princess would wear to a ball. What is the name of them? Do you know? I would love to buy some of the bulbs. I will have to look for them on the internet.

Rose, I'm so glad you don't have the weather we have east of you. It's nice to see a current photo with sunshine and flowers blooming!

Hi Rose, Your Irises are absolutely gorgeous.. Love those colors... Fabulous!!!! Our first Irises bloomed this week --but no others yet...

It's cool here today --and the big rains are coming back again this weekend. We got about 6 inches last weekend --and may get that much again this weekend. Unbelievable how much rain we have had these past couple of months.

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

Oh so pretty Rose. I'm just starting to see my tulips popping out of the ground. We've been having rain, rain, rain ;) Should help the plants if only it would get a bit warmer tho.
