The decisions are made....

Not the greatest pic...but you can see that silhouette.  It is a little house wren.  They have made their decision and have decided to have their nest in the gourd on our front porch.
They have been busy all day...and just sing and carry on something fierce.  Just happy to be alive.  I guess we should all be that way.  They are such a joy to have around.

Sink is in, but kitchen still is not back to normal.  But will be here shortly.

Lorelei is coming tomorrow for a couple nights.  I hope it doesn't rain the whole time.  If nothing else, I would love to take her to a greenhouse before the plants are all gone.  And maybe get to take her to the park to play.  And it is warm enough to have out the squirt guns...of course, she is just as happy being here as anything.  So it is no worry either way.  But would just like to see her reaction to all the flowers.

  1. I just love the little wrens. They nest in everything they can get into! And noisy! At the old peoples house, the wrens build a nest in the light poles by the pool, and they chatter all the time. But they are so gentle. they fly right up to you! You can almost catch them... Have fun with the grand baby :)

  3. Can't really tell --but that looks like a Carolina Wren to me.. His tail sticks up like that. Not sure the tails of the House Wrens stick up..... AND--Carolina Wrens LOVE to build their nests near or IN our homes... ha

Have fun with Lorelei. I'm sure you will.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  4. I wish it were a Carolina wren but it is not...not the same song, not the right markings. And the house wren's tail does not stay flipped up hardly at all. Most of the time when it is sitting it is down.

  5. How sweet to watch/hear the birds in the gourd. I hope the weather is nice and dry for Lorelei to visit the nursery for flowers.

Lily and Lucy love going to the greenhouse. This year Lily was big enough to pull the wagon with the plants. They both had a ball.

  11. We had a bird family nest in our bird house again this year and it's so much fun to watch them nest, then come and go...then feed the little ones...then the little ones peeking out at the world until they decide to spread their wings.

My granddaughters love the squirt guns, too! They have squirt gun wars with their mom and dad every Saturday and Monday, weather permitting now.
