Feeling sunny here

Even though it is cold here, and we are supposed to get from 3-6 inches of snow, feeling pretty good here.  Roger's test did not show anything wrong...have one biopsy to wait for, but the doctor felt pretty sure that it was not cancer.  So we are pretty much feeling relaxed tonight.

The cats are all snuggled in trying to stay warm.  Bubbie still goes out once or twice a day, but is only out for a very few minutes before he wants back in.  I feel sorry for anyone or anything that has to be out in this cold weather.

Again, it makes me wonder how the early settlers survived.  Just think of all they didn't have, even just in the warmer clothing that we have.  Warmer shoes.  Waterproof.  Materials that dry quicker.  I am not going to go on and on.  These thoughts just always cross my mind at times like this.

We are watching this show about owls.  This is only a short clip...I wish it was the entire show.  It is so interesting to watch.

Well, just wanted to let everyone know that things looked good today.  Will try to finish catching up on my visiting tonight and tomorrow.

Oh, one additional thing...thanks to all who admitted they look in lighted windows at night.  I had always wondered if I were the only one.  I don't think Roger even thinks about making an effort to look in...I guess it is a woman thing.

  2. Glad tests were good. We had about five inches of snow but then we had two inches of ice on top of that.

    Stay warm.

  3. I too wonder how the survived the weather in the old days. Not to mention all the itchy wool they wore! I don't know what I'd do with out my insulated coveralls. Although this winter I never got them out.

  4. Did I mention that I love to peep in windows at night, too? I like to see how the rooms are painted and decorated. That is my excuse anyway! It was so cold today that the air literally made my eyes water, minus four! I have the owl show taped and cannot wait to watch it!!

  5. Glad to hear Roger's tests came out ok.
We had sunshine all day but we had -7 last night to about 15 today. We're supposed to get more snow too. They can't decide how much. Heard everything from 3 inches to ten. Wait and see. Not looking to go out unless I HAVE to.

  8. Glad things are going well. Remember the old Little House on the Prairie show when they would have a blizzard and had a rope tied between the house and barn so they wouldn't get lost. Pretty scary!

  10. Very glad to hear the good news on Roger's test!

You know with it being so cold, I've been thinking those things, too. Very glad to have a gas furnace to keep us warm, a good roof over our heads, hot water, and all the benefits of modern living. We truly should never take anything for granted.

Mike saw that show on the owls but I missed it. He said it was good.

Hope you're enjoying the sunny skies this afternoon!

  11. Happy to hear good results on the tests...and very happy you can relax now...I can truly relate. I also think of how it was in the so called good old days....how could anyone survive it. I suppose we are tougher than we think. And YES I am a looky lou...when driving at night I try to catch a glimpse of how a room is decorated...
