A few more batiks

Yesterday we stopped at the Threads of Time quilt shop in Danville, Illinois....I picked up a few more batik fabrics to add to the Lotus quilt.  I let my daughter choose which ones she wants to add and surprisingly, the two I was sure she would pick are the two she did not choose.

Roger mowed the yard for the first time today...I hung out two loads of laundry....and sewed in between other small jobs.

I also sat on the front porch and read a few minutes.  It is what I look forward to all winter.  That and having coffee/breakfast out there.  What do you look forward to doing once the winter has gone?

I always look forward to the return of the red-winged blackbirds and the robins.  Hanging out laundry is high on the list...and then later in the summer it is fresh tomatoes from our garden!

I always look forward to planting, getting my hands in the soil lifts my spirits like nothing else!
Hearing the mourning doves, and smelling the honeysuckle are high on my list as well.

Nice post, Rose! I look forward to the Redwings as well; I just love their songs. And of course, I always look forward to seeing and hearing the Meadowlarks.

I miss having a porch! I would sit there all the time and read and eat, if I had one! I have to admit that I do not know the definition of Batik! So what is it? I know it is these fabrics, but what make Batik special? These are stunning, and my favorite is the center aqua one.

Very pretty fabrics. We have not yet mowed the lawn but it won't be long! I love to walk around the yard daily and see what is new with the plants. I also love fresh veggies and fruit from the market!

So which did you and your daughter choose?
I like the Red Wings too only they have taken over or overtaken the bird feeders--big hogs they are. LOL
Sun kissed tomatoes---YUM! We have several growing under the grow lights right now---I hope they survive.
