This is one from last October...I have had in a draft ever since that week probably. Just never got around to posting it. Mushrooms have always captured my attention. They come in such amazing forms and colors.

We had some really strong winds last night...but clear today. It is the first day without rain in several days. I think we are supposed to have a couple more clear days, and the rain may move back in on Monday. Though I am ready for some clear days, rain is better than snow and bitter cold temps.
We took off for the day today...I did not do one single stitch of sewing. Hopefully I can get back in the groove tomorrow.
Those mushrooms that grow on trees always fascinate me. It is good to take a day off and do nothing but rest and whatever you feel like.
ReplyDeleteMushrooms are fascinating, especially morels!
ReplyDeleteShowed the Great Scot (husband) your map; we're going to Merom next weekend if the weather cooperates. Thanks for the suggestion!
That is one huge mushroom, and probably not an edible one. We have been getting a bit of rain in Texas, but we really need it. More coming today and overnight into Monday. We'll see...they're not too good at predictions.
ReplyDeleteReally nice photos of the fungi, Rose!
ReplyDeleteamazing and different mushroom.. good girl taking a day off from the normal stufff
ReplyDeleteI too am fascinated by the shapes and colors of different fungi.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to take a day or two off. Go for a drive or just do nothing--as if!

Nice! Have fun on your outing!
ReplyDeleteThose storms went above and below us- I heard they were pretty bad in some states. I'm glad you didn't get any of the tornado weather.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have a day off from the usual routine! I like your mushroom photo. My daughter and her boyfriend are out in the woods today looking for morel mushrooms. They were supposed to be popping out after the rain and the sun is shining today. Hope they find some! Rain chances are moving back in tonight clear through Thursday.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
Goodness, that is one very impressive fungi Rose. Great shot!
