a bit of randomness

1.  It is hard to see in the photo above, but these are red damselflies.  The frist time I have ever seen them.

2.  Not a very good picture, but can you imagine walking around in that coat in early fall?  Also, can you imagine how much work has to be done before it can be spun into yarn?

3.  This was at a shot pin Shipshewana...I like it but have no place for it.  It was quite big.

4.  We passed this courthouse, but I don't recall just where it was out.  I think it is beautiful.

5.  This place is in Attica, Indiana...I have posted pics of it before, here, here, and here....for some reason at that time I wondered if it was still being used as a church.  At least we know it has been a church at some point, and a beautiful one at that.

  2. Great capture of the damselflies. Dragonflies are hard to photograph I find as they just don't stay sill long enough...

  5. That sheep’s fleece is not one I would want to have to de-oil and clean up to spin. What a mess. The people at the little alpaca farm down the road are SO clean. They pick up the poop every day, they have handmade coats for the animals...the little farm could be someones front yard it is so clean. Loved the little church. Maybe it will be turned into a restaurant like the one I love to go to. And that dragonfly...it is a beauty. We see very few of them here.

  6. Lucky you to have this church to photograph. I'm very attracted to the windows and door and would enjoy taking photos of them myself.

  7. Great pictures! I can see why that courthouse caught your eye. There have been several stories from our area about people that have renovated churches to homes. The most recent was in Edwardsburg MI. We have driven by it many times and it always makes me wish I could live in a Church building.
    Merry Christmas!!

  8. That's a pretty church building. We have at least 3 historic old churches that are just sitting empty here in our town. What a shame. I did not even see the damselflies at first. Great capture! This courthouse is very impressive. Here in our town, the courthouse appears to be white marble. Hope you have enjoyed your day and that you both are feeling well.
