This is an oversized potholder I have had started for a while...and just put together the other day. I saw one made like this in Shipshewana, only smaller.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas...
I am not sure if I am ready to start blogging again...but I want to try. I am thinking getting back to normal might be good for me.
It has rained, and rained and rained some more, though we have actually had a couple days free of it. But it has remained overcast, and some days just so, so dreary. I don't mind a day here and there that is cloudy, but I do get tired of days on end without sunshine.
Other than doing a couple loads of laundry, preparing one of my sewing machines for some serious sewing, all I have done today is make a pot of potato soup this evening. It was the perfect weather for it. And it was soooooooo good.
Oh, what a cute potholder!
ReplyDeleteYes, it HAS been dreary. So thankful we don't have snow yet, however. Mmmmm...love potato soup!

Like the potholder a lot. I'm thinking I should make some potholders for myself and for gifts.
ReplyDeleteThose darned cloudy days are killers. We got a bit of snow...just enough to muddy the dog's paws. That's 12 paws to wipe each time they go outside, ack.
Well, just blog. Just do it. It's good to connect with others that share your interests. I'm glad I found your blogs and thoroughly enjoy what you share on both of them.
Happy New Year.
xx, Carol
I really like the potholder, Rose! I'm glad you are back blogging. It has been dreary here too so I've been trying to improve my low light photography skills. lol I think quilting with bright fabrics would help too. Or testing out new soup recipes. :)
ReplyDeletehave you ever considered an shop, you need to sell your stuff? i need a few potholders. i have some need there. seriously. i love ones that you can slip your had into so you don't burn your fingers. no fun there. here's hoping your 2016 will be an awesome one!! ( :

Hi Rose, I have read many posts from you during the past few months... SO-- I didn't realize that you were struggling with blogging. ME--on the other hand---WELL---I am really struggling, but I tried to explain it better in my blog post from yesterday. Hope you get a chance to read it... It's a "Year in Review"....
ReplyDeleteI will say that once a person gets out of the habit of blogging, it's VERY hard to start again--at least on a consistent basis.... I finally decided just to post a blog when I want to --and not on a given schedule. That seems to work better for me...
Hope you all have an awesome 2016...
Happy New Year.
Hugs,
Betsy
Hi Rose,
ReplyDeleteI really like your pot holder, lovely colours.
I know what you mean about the weather, it just doesn't seem to stop raining here and its permanently grey. Certainly not cheery weather. Roll on the Spring that's what I say.
What a cute pot holder. You are lucky to know how to sew. I stink at sewing. - Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLovely pot holder! It is so nice to see you pop back up in my blogger feed. Always love seeing your posts and photos.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Rose
You make the cutest things on the sewing machine. This pot holder is adorable. Your potato soup sounds so good. We had a lot of rain this week. Finally today we enjoyed some sun. It was great!
ReplyDeleteI wish you many blessings in the new year and I appreciate your friendship and encouragement very much.
