I only made a couple of x-blocks late this evening. Like the ones shown here. I have over 20 of them now. I am going to have to come to a decision on what I want to do with them. I tend to make them or crumb blocks when I want to sew, but don't want to commit to something.
I have enough of the Falling Charms blocks to make a quilt, but am of the mind to leave them be for now. And put them together later. With Christmas right around the corner, I would probably not quilt it and I had rather have blocks waiting to be put together as to have a quilt top folded and waiting. Not that I don't have plenty that are folded and waiting. I have probably a dozen and most of them full-sized quilt tops...
It was such a beautiful day that we went shooting...I cannot tell you how long its been since I did any shooting. And I didn't do much today...just went to be out with Roger. But, I forgot how much I love the smell of gunpowder. It is right up there with wood smoke or new mowed hay.
That first picture looks like some of the things I had in my corner of the antique/collectible shop. I miss having stuff there. One has to sell stuff to pay the rent so I moved on. I love this stuff too but also have no place to show it off. sometimes I just like stuff.

ReplyDeleteI have a few older plates given to me by my grandmother. She used to use them but I'm too afraid I might chip ot break them!
ReplyDeletei would love to go shooting, have not done that in years and years, pistol and rifle, not shot guns. i love daddys old single shot rifle. that is a lot of quilts folded and waiting. maybe in the new year which is not that far off.

John and I do like to wander thru antique stores. I have always loved pretty dishes, pitchers etc. He loves to find old cigar boxes to put screws, nails, etc. in and we love old photos too. Rarely do we buy anything but we enjoy looking - takes our minds off our ailments! lol

ReplyDeleteOh my! We have a tall brown and cream colored pitcher just like that one in the far lower left corner of your first image. It belonged to my parents. Then in the third image, we have Blue Willow dishes like you are showing. Dear friends of my folks passed them on to us in their later years. Also in the third picture is a blue and pink vase with handles. I'm wondering if it is Roseville Pottery? My grandmother had a style of vase similar to that. I would love to walk through that place!
