A few posts ago, I posted two or three songs, and got into a discussion with a blogfriend...she did not like any of the songs. And said we probably didn't like many of the same singers/bands. So curious me..I emailed to see who she liked...she responded and it turns out we like a lot of the same. But she also threw in a couple names I was not familiar with. Lewis Capaldi was one.
And the above is the first song of his I tried and I just totally loved it. I will always be thankful to Carol for naming him. Some of my favorite songs in life have come from friends naming people I have never heard of before.

I have several different day lilies...none of mine get tall like I hear/see others doing. But they have lots of blooms. I am content with that.
I have just the one bunch of yellow Asiatic lilies, but have two different bunchs of the orange...at least right now. Not sure what is going to bloom next. I can't remember what the others are.
BTW, photos are taken by my phone...

We are sitting here listening to/watching Dierks Bentley....I record a lot of music because Roger enjoys it so much. We both loved the song below...
It has Chris Thile from Nickel Creek playing the mandolin.
Hope your week ahead is a good one...
I had never heard of Lewis Capaldi before but really like that song. I'll go to Youtube later and see what his other songs are like.
ReplyDeleteYour Lilies are lovely. Mine are just starting to open but with hot weather coming no doubt they'll open pretty quick.
Have a great week.
I am very familiar with both songs! I keep our T.V. turned on to a special music channel and they play this Lewis Capaldi song all the time. I really like it. Listen to "Emmylou" by First Aid Kit, it is one of our new favorite songs. About "Senor", it is a Bob Dylan song and I like Dylan's version much better. I bought his album just for that one song, I love it! Dylan's version is much slower and more mournful. Your lilies are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteOnly the first video is available to me and I like the song too. Both colours of the lilies are beautiful. Have a happy new week!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteLove the lilies, beautiful blooms. I have heard of Nickel Creek and I like Dierks Bentley's songs too. Wishing you a happy day and a great new week!
I always wished I could play an instrument. I always wished I could carry a tune. But I sing along, unless it's a song I REALLY love then I just want to listen. I love just about any song that is sung with acoustical instruments in the background. I love to hear a singers voice that is not overpowered by the band.
ReplyDeleteWe are watching Boardwalk Empire on Prime. It has wonderful music from the 20s reminding how much I love Torch Songs and how much I love Billy Holiday. I can truly get lost in music.
xx, Carol
Oh, I almost forgot...your lilies are beautiful. Mine are not blooming yet. But my Spiderwort is and I just really love those purple flowers. I had two great days of weed worthy weather, but alas Sunday and Monday are rainy days yet again.

I like some of Dierks Bently, I like the violin in this one but not the song, don't hate it just not my thing. neither is the other one. but I don't listen to a lot of music. i like duets and trios with lots of harmony when i do listen... it is good you both share a love of music, there is so much out there to listen to and watch and every type music there is. for every taste.. keep listening and sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi There, I don't always comment --but do enjoy reading your blog posts... Music has always been such a huge part of my life and my family's life... Growing up, one of my brothers played the violin, another brother played the accordian, I played the clarinet, and all of us (me especially) played the piano... George and I listen to music most of the day... We have a huge iTunes library on our computer ---so we can turn it on and listen to all kinds of music.
ReplyDeleteWe both like most all kinds of music. I guess my least favorites are rock and rap (that kind of stuff). I love classical, regular pop, most contemporary country, and big choral groups such as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I also love musicals. BUT--I'm open to anything most of the time...
Love your lilies.... Our Day lilies and Lilies are blooming now --and SO pretty....
I posted a blog post today.
Hugs,
Betsy
You've put me onto some really lovely songs and musicians Rose, thank you :) The lilies are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the mandolin, such a beautiful instrument. Your lilies are magnificent:)
ReplyDeleteYour lilies are so beautiful. Such nice "pops" of color. I enjoyed the videos and had not heard either.
ReplyDeleteI like both songs and you have a great camera phone.
