Scenes from the road and other stuff....

We are now settled in back home for a little while...the above photo was taken Sept 29th on my way to the dermatologist.

Notice this is a barn house!  I did not realize it till I looked at pic on my computer.  It is a from the road shot where I just try to aim my camera at a subject...I glance at the screen but that is about all I do.   I cannot take time to really do much other than glance.  The only reason I can do this is because it is a P&S and I am so familiar with it.

While staying with the grand fur babies, I made about half a dozen more crumb blocks...

We also went to a new to us inside flea market...I saw a few nice items....such as this cup

and I loved this rooster plate, but I did not buy it.  I need no more stuff!

The mole removed by the dermatologist was basal cell cancer...I will be going back November 6 for Mohs surgery.  Fun times ahead.  I might be glad that I have to wear a mask when out after that!  LOL  In case you don't know, Mohs surgery is done under local anesthetic.  The surgeon will remove a layer of skin/tissue and it will be checked for cancer,  If it still shows more, I will be taken back and they will remove another layer until it comes back clear.

My father-in-law had Mohs surgery one time and he was taken back 7 times!  That was probably 37 or 38 years ago.  It was an all day thing. I hope mine is not that many times.  She did tell me I could wait in the waiting room, or in my car, or go eat, etc.

For fun I leave you with the latest Simon's cat.

  2. I love Simon's Cat, and this is one I haven't seen before. Wonder how old this barn house is? I guess the parents can't say to their kids "Do you think you're living in a barn?"" What is P&S?

  3. I love that barn house! You got a good picture of it. I'll be thinking of you when you go for the surgery. I know that is very stressful. I am so glad they found it and are going to be safe and get any that remains. Tom had that kind of surgery for skin cancer twice and it healed up very well. I love all the blocks you are making! I bet you were glad to be back home even though you probably enjoyed your trip. Take care and I'll be thinking of you!

  7. I love the barn house. I have always thought it would be neat to convert a barn into a house.
Sorry to hear about more surgery. Prayers for a quick, easy and complete surgery and healing.

  9. It’s good she caught the cancer. And it is good the surgery is done in one day.

That barn house is quite lovely.

I don’t need any more stuff either. I’d like to be rid of most of what I already have.

  10. The barn house is really interesting. That would make quite a lot of living space.

We have a few of those around here. I'd love to see inside.

  12. I love the barn house! That is such a pretty cup. Makes you wonder why anyone would get rid of it. It's good those surgeries are done in one day and you don't have to drive back and forth. Hope your surgeries turn out to be very few. Wish you the best. Oh, Simon's cat is so funny!I enjoyed that this morning.

  15. Well, sorry to hear about the diagnosis.😞 I sure, though, in this day and age they must have perfected the moh surgery technique. But, in case they haven't I will be praying it will be once and done! Much love going your way!💖

  16. It's good to know your surgery is going to be done quite soon. I'm sure it's on your mind and will be until you get the surgery finished.
I would not have been able to resit that colourful cup. It's so cheery.

  17. I took my Dad to get Mohs twice. I got a lot of knitting done in the waiting room. He did well both times. I can count the returns on one hand. I think both were 4 times back. Good luck. I am a fair skinned person myself, and predict that I'll someday be in this situation as well, with my family history.
We have an old barn that was converted into a neighborhood church in my development!

  19. Rose, lots of unusual buildings get turned into homes here, churches that are of the neighbourhood type, tiny fit very few people, or the church style moves to some place bigger but also there are barns converted, once I read someone converted a chicken coop to a tiny house.

Love you had some trips out of town but don't love the mole issue... here I believe they remove tissue around such thing by 3cm - but let's hope your needs are lesser. At least you got it seen too... virtual hugs, keep quilting...

  20. where is the mole. when i had the surgery back in 2005, i went back 4 times, Bob had it during the virus shutdown and only went back 2 times. praying yours will 2 or 1.. is it on your face? I LOVE that cup and i wonder if this was a barn and turned to a house or a house built like a barn

  22. Scary as it is, I am glad that the cancer has been found and can now be removed. I had a session with a major melanoma over twenty years ago (three invasive operations to remove it all). It does not pay to mess around with these things.
    Sending you hugz, Mxx

  23. As always, my opinion is the opposite. I don't like the barn house, it looks like a...well, like a barn! I want a plain old traditional house, boring, I know.
I hope it goes well at the doctor and the tests are all negative.

  24. The shape of this barn house is interesting. I think this architecture is based on wisdom gained through the long history of agricultural work.
