These are the new 'flowers' since the last picture.
Life in Pieces hosts 15 Minutes to Stitch....and to be fair, I heard about it through Shasta at the High Road Quilter. Though I have not officially linked, I have been trying to sew/mess with fabric every day. And have been successful thus far.

A somewhat rough week has just passed. Roger has fallen twice, in the house, in the past week. Was not really hurt at all either time. Once he was bending over, and just fell on forward. It was like in slow motion. Then last night he was bent over, pulling the tv tray to him and shuffling backwards. In between those falls he was dizzy for about 3 days...(I was dizzy for a day or two myself, but I felt like I was getting a cold. Roger never felt sick and the first fall was before he started feeling dizzy and the last fall happened after he was pretty much back to normal)
BUT, guess what he said last night about a minute after he fell? I don't remember just how he said it, but it was 'Since I am so light on my feet....' He was trying to lighten my spirits cause it just about makes me sick when he falls.
The dr. had increased the dosage on one of his meds, and I read where it could cause dizziness. So I took him to the dr. to make sure he did not have an ear infection, and he said to go back to the lower dosage. And soon as I did the dizziness left him

Also have had new shocks put on our car, and being that it all of a sudden started using a lot more gas, I had spark plugs and air filter changed....it is not back to normal. Thank God. Roger always took care of sparkplugs and filters...the shocks we would have had done. And our son-in-law offered to do them, but he was working so much overtime at the time I did not want to take away what free time he might happen to get.
I am back online! Not having internet or a phone for two and a half weeks has not been as easy I expected. I have quite a bit of catching up to do on your blog. Thank goodness the doctor figured out why Roger is getting dizzy and changed his medicine. Falling can be so very dangerous.

You have quite a stack of beautiful quilt pieces! I hope your husband's falling is done with. So fortunate that he didn't get hurt.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about the falls, you must have been really worried. But thankfully it was only the medicne, and easy to fix! Well, I never! A lactose intolerant squirrel!
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you found a solution for the dizziness. Andy got dizzy twice today, but he didn’t fall, thank goodness. The first time he was on the roof, but he could steady himself on the supports for the solar heating panels. It’s scary stuff.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby sometimes used to simply black out and fall, so I know how scary it is to deal with. What a relief to discover it was his meds causing it and you have been able to remove the dizziness.
ReplyDeleteTake good care of yourselves, Mxx
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI am glad Roger's dizziness was accounted for and only the meds were to blame. That is an easy fix, right? Your quilts flowers blocks are pretty. Take care, enjoy your day and have a great week ahead.
I'm so sorry to hear about Roger's falls, that is so scary! Glad to hear it was the meds and that he's back on the lower dose now. I love your beautiful flowers, you have a nice stack going! The little squirrel is so precious. I would want to keep him forever.
ReplyDeletefalls terrify me, myself or bob, doesn't matter. so glad the meds helped. as we age a fall can ruin us for the rest of our lives. such a blessing he was not hurt and that you did not fall from the dizzy spells. i have fallen twice in the last 2 months, and now i live in fear of falling, if i lean to the left i lose my balance. i am glad you are diving into sewing every day, wish I could do that. if i don't read every day, just order my coffin... i have only had 1 day the past year that i did not read. i rather read than any other thing i do... but not non fiction, only stories. that squirrel is a miracle
ReplyDeleteThe falls must have been scary. It is good you were on top of it and got the dosage changed on that new med. Take care you two.
ReplyDeleteSo good that you had this checked out. When something different happens, like dizziness and falling... They should be checked out. And a possible med doseage changed. Or at least, checked.
ReplyDeleteOh boy...I'd be scared to death with his falling & dizzy spells. You too! I hope the lower dosage adjustment continues to be the best treatment.
ReplyDeleteYour flower project is coming along. And getting a car fixed is always a hassle.
Stay safe Rose.
All those flowers you are making are just beautiful and so neat and precise! You are such a talented quilter. I'm sorry to hear about Roger falling. I understand how frightening that can be because Tom has been having falls this past year. His started out with a vertigo problem and has continued due to neuropathy in his feet. I find myself watching his feet and where and how he steps whenever we go out because I'm so afraid of him falling. He is on blood thinners and even a minor fall will cause him to start bleeding somewhere. I'm glad to hear the medication was adjusted for Roger and I hope that will help him.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better Rose! You have a lot on your plate so please take care of you!
Oh my gosh -that squirrel. How darling.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing that doctors give you things to help you and they create other problems. Glad Roger didn't get hurt. He is so funny!!! He'll never lose that sense of humor.
You have quite a stack of flowers. Maybe that has something to do with not reading much lately.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Roger fell but didn't get hurt. Sounds like it was the medicine.
You certainly did have a rough week. Thankfully reducing Roger's meds solved the dizziness. I hope this week is proving to be a better one.
ReplyDeleteYou sure have done a lot of the pretty flowers.
It’s good to hear that Roger didn’t get hurt, but for an adult to fall is always somewhat scary. Those flowers will end up creating something beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGood that the lower dosage stopped Roger's dizziness. Hope he is feeling better and not hurt. You are making good progress with your stack of flowers. The baby squirrel in the video is so cute.
ReplyDeleteLife is so topsy turvy for almost everyone - maybe Roger is light on his feet, but if you have pick him up, that might be a different story, but it's great that it was the meds. As for your needs, you must take of you and with your "hexie flowers" they are your place of peace for now. I too haven't read much either - like in turning of pages :-)
ReplyDeleteWow look how much the poor little changed---so happy.
ReplyDeleteAnd look at all the flowers you made---congrats!!!
Falling makes one feel so dumb--I know. Bob has fallen a couple of times and it is in slow motion and he didn't get hurt. He just shrugs it off. 2 yrs ago I fell twice it was like I fainted---so weird. I just relaxed and then wqas fine but the 2nd time bob call 911 and I felt better before they found our place but bob insisted I go to emergency so I did. What happened was my blood pressure went real low but who knows why. So I don't jump up too fast and if I feel dizzy I just wait 'til it passes. Wow I never told anybody this not even my kids. Thanks for listening. Shhhh!

Nice to see your flowers.
ReplyDeletePleased to read that the lower dosage stopped Roger's dizziness.
Hope he is now improving.
That was a lovely video of the squirrel, thank you for sharing it here.
My good wishes.
All the best Jan
If you are both dizzy, you might want to check to see if maybe there is a carbon monoxide leak. I hope you both feel better. I am glad the lower dosage is working. The stack of hexagons look wonderful. Reporting and linking to Kate's blog every week helps make sure that I stay accountable.
