Blue and white...

The teapot to this set is at my other blog...there is a link on the side bar.  And yes I thought of Granny Marigold when I saw this and the other set.

**********                                                                                                                        I am not going to tell you the long drawn out story I just told my daughter about one of my sewing machines needing oil, and what happened when I forgot to unthread the needle.  It was not pretty, and it was not fun...even the cat purring got on every last nerve.  This was last night.

She was so happy and I was so frustrated...I finally got the thread mess cleaned out, but still had to work more on the oiling.  I don't get to sew for very long stretches, but it adds up quicker than  I realize.

But it is in working order...and I have another machine up there, and daughter has a machine that I could have put in its place...but it is old faithful...

And I just now thought...I have laundry I need to finish up and get put away!

  1. Sounds like it was a dreadful mess. I'm glad you didn't get a needle in the finger!

  2. That teaset is so pretty. You have more patience than me - I probably would have thrown that machine down the stairs! But I am glad you got it sorted in the end :)

  3. Such a pretty set with the cups and tea pot.
I've had messes with thread getting all jammed in my machine. Glad you got it all cleaned out. It's frustrating when you want to work on a project and you have to deal with things like that instead.

  4. looks like NZ is like me. that is why I can't sew... sewing takes patience and I have none with a sewing machine. My grandmother sewed her finger once. and smashed 2 fingers in the wringer to the old washing machine. I can't imagine the mess oil can make of thread. tangles threads and bobbins did me in when trying to learn to sew. details please on this episode. waiting to hear

  5. The tea cups are pretty , I like the set!
I have not used a sewing machine since I was in school.
I do sew things by hand, only repairs and buttons.
    Happy 4th of July!
Take care, have a wonderful day!

  6. Truly love the cups to go with the teapot. Now I have double envy!!
Your difficulties and patience-trying are why I no longer have a sewing machine. Glad I had one when I was younger but glad I no longer have it.
Happy 4th and happy laundry folding...just finished mine.

  7. The sewing machine/oil fiasco must have been pretty bad.
The cups ( that match the very pretty tea pot) are like some Japanese cups I have. No handles.

  9. Oh dear on the sewing machine fiasco. This morning I was making a smoothie with blueberries, strawberries, a banana and almond milk. I accidentally brushed a cup against the start button and hadn't put the lid on yet. So I can sympathize with you and let's hope that never happens again :)

Loved your pretty cups and heading over to your other blog to see the teapot.

Have a great weekend Rose with no more mishaps :)
