Another leaf from the tree out in the back yard. They are just so strange when like this I cannot decide if I love them or if I just think they are strange.

Daughter was taking the day off, but ended up having to go in to work for part of the day. Then around noon we went to the 4-h fair grounds to a Doughmaker's sale...they make baking pans, etc...along with their pans they had a lot of kitchen gadgets. Maybe I will report on them at some point, but not now.
Also, tonight we went to see the marching band....it was senior's night. The seniors in the marching band got introduced along with their family members. There were 43 I think. A lot of seniors.
Then the band did their full performance, in their outfits. I do not see how they do it. I have always wondered that. I don't see how the directors do it, nor how the students follow their directions. And there are almost 300 members of the band.

The leaf almost looks pastel. It is an unusual color for fall. I agree with you about the marching bands, it is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI was a flag girl in the marching band...lots of practice and lots of counting...one two three turn left, one two three four turn right, etc. Everyday for hours. We had a really good band leader but some of the college bands I've seen are fantastic. Still fun to watch.

ReplyDeleteA doughmakers sale sounds interesting. They had senior night at the local high school here last night. I don't know about all the schools but here they work those band members a LOT. My daughter was a band manager when she was in high school. Seems like she spent more time at practice than she did at home.
I have always loved to watch marching bands, it was the only thing I watched when football was on. that was back in the day when they had bands not STARS singing. the leaf is a little strange all by itself, I liked the ones in a cirlce

ReplyDeleteWe went to a band concert this past week. Wonderful performances but the students weren’t marching whilst performing. I don’t know how a marching band does it!

ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a busy but rewarding day! Those unique leaves can really spark some interesting thoughts. And attending a marching band performance, especially on senior night, must have been so special! It’s incredible how the students and directors coordinate such a large group. It's a pretty leaf Rose! I am always drawn to them, any shape, any form. In fact I took a photo of one only the other day. I hope to take more when I get out of the house. Sounds like you had a very nice day. The place that sells the baking molds is a somewhere I would love to check out. I haven't done any baking in a long time but I would surely want to try out one of those.
