It's raining here again in the Wabash valley, but when I step out the back door I am hit with the scent of this lilac!  It is heavenly.

I spend the whole of yesterday afternoon watching horse racing at the Churchill Downs.  I think I could really become addicted to it.  It is the laziest day I have spent in a long time.

  5. Lilacs are heavenly scented. I have about 15 - 20 lilac trees here at the house. Spokane is known as the lilac city!

  7. RE: Mt Saint Helens. I was living in WA. But not in eastern Wa where they got the blunt of her wrath. All I remember is a very very light dusting of ash. I was a very little girl then! ;)
The stories I hear from the people who "lived" through it , are amazing! The cows freaked out and wouldn't move, people thought the world had ended!
