Look!

My daughter was out for her run and stopped to get a rock out of her shoe and found the first one...she did not look much but fount these!    They are morel mushrooms.   In Tennessee where I am from, they call them hickory chickens...but whatever you call them, I call them delicious.

***************
After much time spent trying to decide how to quilt this:

I finally settled on this.   A leafy vine winding around all over the quilt.   Deciding how to quilt a quilt is always my hardest decision.   I had a couple other things I would have liked to try but since I have not been quilting very much, I was afraid to attempt them.  Then once I started this, I felt it was perfect anyway.  My quilting is still not perfect, but once it is washed, the mistakes won't be noticed too much.

I would say in less that two hours work, I will have the quilting finished, but I have not made the binding yet.

That is it for now...hope you are staying safe.

    I adore that leaf pattern.

  4. Leaves are perfect. I know what you mean by a comfortable pattern, I think leaves are the easiest (although mine tend to look like hearts). Can't wait to see the finished quilt.

  5. I've heard about morel mushrooms but never seen one (I don't think they grow here). They look quite intriguing!
I love your vine pattern you are quilting. It seems to fit in with the fabric pattern really well.
    Keep stitching! Mxx

  6. Your quilting is beautiful! Do you have a longarm machine for the quilting? I quilt on my sewing machine and do simple straight line quilting mainly. I'm not even good at free motion quilting. That quilting design is perfect for the quilt!

I am another who thinks your quilting choice is just fine! Foraged food is fun - though I don't eat mushrooms at all, but do like various leaves and nuts. YAM xx

  18. The quilting is looking great. I love the pattern of the stitches. Does your sewing machine do this automatically? Or do you have to 'guide' it?

  21. Hi There, Hope you had a nice Easter --although I'm sure it was very different from most Easters... I missed being with my family... I missed going to church and hearing the gorgeous music. However, I made the most of the day by watching services on TV and listening to You Tube music all afternoon...

    Stay healthy and safe...
    Hugs,
    Betsy
