Transition

Today was the first day of my husband's retirement...and the above is a picture of him a while before I met him in 1976. When I met him, he had just sold this Harley Davidson to buy a Honda 750 motorcycle. He kept reading articles about how to make your Harley run like a Honda, so he thought why not buy a Honda. This was a 1953 Panhead with a rigid frame.
Not comfortable to ride.
Anyway, it is strange for him not to have to think about what he has to get done at work tomorrow...to not have to get up at 5:00 in the morn....and though he has plans for tomorrow...he don't have to do anything. I am sure it will be somewhat of an adjustment for both of us, but so far, it seems like it can only be good.

  2. Congratulations! It'll feel great to get up early because he WANTS to, not because he HAS to.

Hope he had a fun first day.

  3. Love the bike...
I had to retire nearly 10 years ago through ill health.. I was 40 years old... Once I'd got over the feeling sorry for myself being ill.. I realised I had all this time on my hands.. I found it so hard at first, but now I love it... I cook, clean, do the washing, and even the shopping and I've come to enjoy it.. ha!.. A hobby or two helps, and there's always jobs around the house. My main problem was keeping my mind active.. thinking things through and solving problems.
I'm sure hubby will finds his footing after a few weeks, I wish him a long long retirement and loads of fun.. ENJOY..
