Just a 'few' sunflowers....

These were taken in 1996...there were a few farms around here that had big fields of sunflowers. I thought that it was going to become a common thing to see big old fields of sunflowers growing. It was not to be. I think they raised them that year and maybe another and I have yet to see another big field of sunflowers.

I wonder if they had trouble harvesting them before the birds got to them. I know that the sunflowers I usually have sure don't last long. Of all the years, this is the one year I don't have a single sunflower.

I love this big sunflower head with the morning glories wrapped around it....just something about it appeals to me.

  1. That's Sunflowers! I remember years ago passing fields of them. I think we were headed to Connecticut but I'm not sure.
That last photo is appealing. I noticed the morning glories right away - nice photo.

  2. Beautiful fields! That last shot with the morning glory is beautiful. I've got vines wrapped around mine, but don't know what they are.

  3. We used to have fields of them too. You could practica;;y see them turn their heads to follow the sun...it was so-o-o beautiful. I wonder why farmers aren't growing so many any more.

  8. I feel fortunate to have had the birds plant a few sunflowers for me and they are just beginning to open.

I like your photography of fields of them.

Patty and I will be celebrating 53 years of marriage on July 12th. Think of it as a long-term relationship.

I have invited bloggers to offer suggestions on a gift for me to give Patty and the list would not be complete without your ideas.
