Fall decorations...

We drove to Arthur, Illinois today. I wanted to get out. It was all drab and dreary here this morn, so after checking the weather in a couple other places, Arthur seemed to be the one that promised to be sunny. And by the time we were there, we were in bright sunshine.

We ate at my favorite restaurant...Yoder's Kitchen....or is it Yoder's Country Kitchen...I honestly cannot remember. I for the longest time called it one thing and it was the other and now I can't remember which is correct and which isn't. They have the best chicken, best dressing, and vegetable soup! They are served on their buffet, which we always get. I always get those three things..sometimes I try a little of something else, but I always choose those first.

I ran by Stitch and Sew to pick up a couple things, then by an Amish shop out in the country where I got Lorelei some coloring books. They have coloring books more along the lines of what we had as kids...not based on some TV cartoon or character. These have all kinds of nice pictures of animals, and kids playing doing things.

We headed on home from there, sticking to back roads for about half the way.
We passed this place after we left the previously mentioned shop....I liked the door area, and I liked the fall decorations.
I set and finished the binding on Lorelei's quilt. I will wash it tomorrow, and try to clean up all the strings, etc....and hopefully I will get photos taken to show tomorrow night.

I don't think I've ever been to Arthur Illinois...I can't wait to see Lorelei's quilt. I'm really enjoying quilting myself.

Pretty Fall decorations, Rose.... I hate seeing Fall come to an end --and after Thanksgiving, we'll all be talking about Christmas... Hard to believe, isn't it????

Have a fabulous Saturday.

I enjoyed reading your description of heading for the sunshine. The Yoder I know in Kansas is an Amish town with a wonderful meat market that has every exotic meat one could want. I'm wondering if the restaurant was Amish too. We have an Amish bakery about 15 miles from here than makes the most wonderful bread and rolls. This talk is making me hungry!

Very festively fall! Love that orange and tan!

I am in NY visiting my new grandson, Frankie. He will be two weeks old tomorrow.

Hi Rose! Nice to hear from you again...and we're back in pretty good shape.

I've been scrolling down through your posts. What a time you have had. I'm so glad that your daughter is doing well. And Lorelei is such a riot. What get sick in the midst of all that just like we did!

Denise is home and improving right along. Lois just talked to her and she seemed fine - tired, but OK. She works from home and has been working all week - probably a bit too much.

We're so glad to be home - there's no place like it.

Best wishes to you and yours! How's that hot water heater doing?

I look forward to seeing the finished quilt, Rose.

The decorations in front of this shop are very tasteful. I like them.

Glad you found a bit of sunshine. It was pretty dreary here today too. But we did have a few minutes of sun every once in a while.

I like the fall decorations you showed in your photo. I'm not ready to think about Christmas decorations just yet.

Glad to see you are back, Rose. Sure hope your daughter is on the mend and feeling better each day.

Good thing you found sun - it was sure hiding in our part of Indiana today!

That's a lovely fall display in your photo. The restaurant sounds yummy!
