Another view

I posted a photo taken from a different angle here at Time Stand Still...my other blog. I would love to be able to get a photo from this side without all the wires, etc. But this was just a drive-by on our way north. I still cannot imagine going to a high school that looks like this.
***********************
It is kind of overcast here today....I have been sitting here catching glimpses of leaves as they fall or are blown along. I think we are headed for a short fall season, but hope I am wrong. We had a little bit of rain night before last but not enough to make a difference. I guess the farmers can use the dry weather to get their crops in.

All the corn is either already turned brown or starting to turn...but the soy beans are still green for the most part. I think because the rain in the spring slowed their planting.

Here at home, the tomatoes are about at an end...there is enough to eat and that is about it. The plus side of that is that they are still delicious. In years past, at the end of some seasons they have been watery and flavorless. I think it had to do with the amount of rain. Whatever the reason, I am so glad to be able to enjoy them. And I sort of wonder what I am going to do when they are gone.

Yesterday I did the first round of sewing of the binding on the quilt...but did not start the hand sewing part of it. I love to do that when I have good shows on TV to watch/listen to. Lately, there are just so few things we like to watch. Maybe tonight will be different....at least football season is starting soon!

  1. The school is way, WAY too big for my taste. I'd feel lost there.

It's overcast and a little cool here today, but quite refreshing after a few days of oppressively hot and humid weather!

  2. Hi Rose, Yes----summer is coming to an end... Me??? I'm glad --since I'm not a lover of summer.

We have had 3 inches of rain so far --and it's still raining... LOVE it---and it's in the 60's... WOW!!!!

We were desperate for rain here so this is fabulous!!!

    Have a great Labor Day.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  3. Wow, that's a school? Amazing! We don't even buy tomatoes at the store anymore. They're never any good, and quite tasteless.

  5. I love that school. I wold like looking at the interior architecture.

My little tomatoes are withering on the vine, which is really disappointing.

So happy to be here with you again, Rose!

  7. It looks absolutely feudal, even more dismal than the other pictures. i imagine the children were made to wear uniforms and hit with rulers.

  9. Wow, I couldn't imagine going there either. I made 4 batches of tomato sauce over the weekend. I can't wait to see the quilt.

  10. wow..that is quite a fancy high school! I agree about not imagining gong there. I was going to finish Steven's quilt top but can't find the piece of fabric that I bought for the first border on it. I know where I bought it and what it looks like...but with all the moving of stuff we have done up in the bedrooms, I have misplaced it somewhere! Drat! Just when I am hyped to do it.
