the last time these will be photographed for a while...

For a while these yellow flowers were everywhere we went that had any water, or had had water. I never tire of them...but think it will be a long while before I get to enjoy their beauty again. They are all gone now.

And after today, I bet a lot of leaves are gone as well. It has been rather chilly the entire day and I don't think it has stopped raining the one single time. Everything is dripping water. The cats want out, we open the door for them--sometimes they go on out and others they start out, pause and sniff and look and feel...they turn around and go back inside. If they do go outside, they want back in before 20 minutes pass. They have us so well trained...

I have spent a big part of the day with fooling with fabric and with sewing. I did sit with graph paper and started figuring on how to arrange the colors. I was dreading that part, but don't know why. It is just squares of fabric...but I am working with a limited amount. It is fabric left over from another project. I did buy a couple other pieces to go with what I had...

  2. We had rain and chilly temps all day yesterday and all last night, so I imagine I will see an obviously changed landscape on my way to work this morning (esp. around the lake). I do miss the flowers and green vegetation in the winter months.
My cats are indoor ones, but they do go out on the screened porch. However, they insist on the French doors from the dining room being kept open, so right now I'm shivering as they roam the porch and sniff the air. I'll give them 5 - 10 minutes then in they come and shut goes the door!

Such pretty flowers and a lovely photo shot. It's always sad to see the flowers leave, but at least we know they'll be back. :>)

  3. Lovely photo of the flowers.
I have some of those yellow flowers (don't know their name) still blooming. The deer don't like them, so they grow well around here!
Same weather system with rain arrived here late yesterday and it's turned much cooler too. Winter must not be too far behind.

  4. i do love yellow flowers and would love to see a field like this one. they will be back next year and I am thinking now you have plenty of time for sewing and what ever you choose it will be beautiful, like the one in your header.

  5. You've captured these flowers beautifully. We had a day of cold rain and wind yesterday. It has stopped raining, but it is still chilly.

  7. The weather here has dropped off suddenly, too... It was almost 90 Sunday, but this week it's been in the lower 40's at night & suppose to be in the mid 30's tonight... I had to put my comforter back on my bed... I'm not turning my heat on this soon... I LOVE LOW ELECTRIC BILLS!!! =)

The flowers sure are beautiful... I don't see why we have to endure a winter season, anyway... heheheee =)

  10. I really like this shot of the flowers Rose!
We had talked about how hard it was to capture them. This is how to do it!
We went to see the grandkids and by the time we got back all of these were gone. I never did get a decent shot.
It has turned cold here - not even 50 degrees and been raining with lots of wind so the trees are bare in places. My yard has more leaves!

  11. I finally got outside today and went for a walk in the woods. I really noticed that any sign of a flower is long gone...sigh. I've been sewing and I'm getting ready to go on a quilting retreat in a few weeks.
