Autumn--I can feel coming in the air

This is not from last year, but on our way to Walmart a bit ago, I did see trees painted with color just like this.  Granted, they were small walnut trees.  Still, it only enhanced the feeling of autumn closing in.

I declare though, I think I spend half my time wishing my life away.  Though in all honesty, this instance it is not wishing my life away...it is looking forward to something.  I think I would be happy if autumn took up half the year with the other three seasons spread between the other 6 months.

But back to the thought of wishing our life away.  It seems I am forever waiting for something to be over...actually wishing time was past.  Does everyone do this as they get older.  I just think if I had been this way when younger, I would forever have been wishing tests and exams were past.

I wish I could go back to the frame of mind I had when younger.  Where I enjoyed the present to the utmost, worried about things when they got here...or better still just do the best possible...and go on with life.

Just wondered if anyone had noticed the other tab at the top of the page.  I created a page with my just my quilts.  I still have few older shots to put up but will eventually get them done.

  2. I like the other three seasons --but do NOT like summer (when it's HOT and MUGGY)... Last Summer was miserable --but so far this summer, it hasn't been too bad. We haven't even had to turn on our AC so far this summer.... YEAH!!!!!

BUT--I'm definitely looking forward to FALL...
    Hugs,

  3. UGH! I miss SUMMER already! I LOVE the long days. I don't like when it gets dark at 4pm. I am ready for bed! LOL! I do like the fresh air of fall and am glad when it gets here, but the short days! I think I need one of those sun lamps! :) I think we all look at the past and think, woulda, shoulda, coulda.
Love your kitty Bubbie! He has such a sweet look on his face.

  4. I do like Fall but I am not ready for it. We get lots of rain here in the fall and that makes for not pleasant days. Now if we get an Indian Summer in the Fall I like that. The days are nice the nights a little crisp and the colors gorgeous.
I think we are always waiting for something different in our lives. Everything sometimes seem so much the same just routine. So we have to make things happen-- and you do that with your quilting and photos and even with Lorelei. MB

  5. Now you've mentioned it I will keep an eye on your quilt tab. I think I look forward to things a little more these days but time is going by so fast, I look back and say wow, where did that year go? I love spring and summer and even winter. I have a hard time with the humidity in summer but I love the overflow of beautiful flowers and fauna, and miss them when they are gone. Pretty leaf photo! I do love those autumn colors.

  6. I love Autumn best. I notice our dogwoods are turning a little red. We seem to live our lives from dr. appt. to test date and we're always relieved when we strike one off the list!

  7. Autumn is my most favourite season, but your thoughts are precious. They ring so true. Life and ageing is a funny old thing. We have to remind ourselves to enjoy every moment, and the universe will unfold..."as it should".

  8. I cannot believe these leaves!! I can so much relate to your not enjoying the present, I think this happens more when we get older. Honestly, lately I find myself not enjoying the ate afternoon, but instead looking forward t our nap!!! My mom also, she could not wait to get somewhere and was always really early and the first one there. Then she could not wait to leave and get back home. So did she really enjoy the event itself? NO, I had not noticed your tab! It is very cool with all your pretty quilts, and a splendid idea!
