Another gray day....

This was our Roger's window one day last week.  Click to enlarge it.  You know winter is fast approaching when you see scenes like this.   It is another day just about like the picture, only it is not actually raining right now.  But the roads are wet, and it looks like it could start at any moment.

Is anyone else watching The Voice?  We did not watch the first couple of seasons, but really enjoy it now.  I haven't got a favorite for sure.  There is one that--I cannot think of his name, but if you watch it and I say the nerdy one, you will know who I mean.  He has an awesome voice.  Now there is one I don't like/enjoy...a female.  But won't say her name...I may end up liking her before it is over with.

I am reading An American Journey:  Travels with Friday in Search of America and Americans.  Just so you know, Friday is what he has named his bike.  I am really enjoying it.  He did a ride when he was a kid after reading Steinbeck's Travels with Charley.  Fifty years later, at the age of 65, he decides to do another trip, this time instead of a couple hundred miles, it is a thousand miles.  I am not half through the book, but have really enjoyed it so far.

  1. I like your photo - lots of mood in it. We had only 16 degrees this morning, so winter's knocking.

  2. that is like a gazillion birds.. awesome sight.
we watch the voice and so far we have no favorites like we did last year. we have 4 favorites from the first show all the way through. the talent isn't as good as last year.. i like tess if i had to pick one. i love country but the country singers so far are not wowing me... we discussed we have not said one single WOw at the end of a song... and usually if we say WOw i pull it up on youtube and we listen to it several times. none this year

  3. Roger's window is a telling sign. Today it started snowing after I had arrived at coffee. I had a couple of inches on the car when I headed home. It's still snowing, but should thaw later.

  5. I know exactly the fellow you are talking about and he is something else. I was saying last night that I thought maybe he could be called an Indie artist (I wonder if this iss the way you spell it.) I think you are overdue for a sunny day. Gray gets to be a bit depressing after a while.

  6. Hi, When we were running errands late yesterday afternoon, we passed a couple of roads where there were continuous power lines just totally FULL of birds sitting on them. I have NEVER seen that many birds in the same place/area… Wish I had have had a camera! Guess they are headed south for the winter!

No---don't watch the Voice… We have so many shows recorded ---so are trying to catch up on some of those…

    Have a great day.
    Hugs

  8. Yep - winter is just one more wind storm away! The birds here are really starting to gather. The geese and ducks are starting to show up in numbers now.

  9. Rain is supposed to get here by tomorrow night. It's been sunny for a couple of good days.
I've seen only a couple of small groups of birds but then I haven't really been out much.
The books you're reading sounds pretty good. I'll have to check for my Kindle.

  10. In regards to The Voice, I think you are talking about James Wolpert. He is my absolute favorite. The BEST. The quality of his voice is so far above the others.

  11. HI..love the photo, here we have been hearing the geese a lot here in Michigan.Winter truly is upon us soon. I don't watch the VOICE so I can't comment about it only to say true AMERICAN talent is found on it.I think IDOL show is not nearly as good as it used to be in the beginning. Nice Post!!

  12. Your photo looks like the kind of weather we're having right now. Yep, winter is getting mighty close.

The book sounds fascinating. I need a change of pace. Yesterday I finished a novel that centered on the power of pharmaceutical companies. Scary stuff if there's any truth in it!
