Guess what I found!!!!

Back when we were young and first married, we bought this album.  In vinyl...well, I have looked for digital versions off and on since we first got a computer.  I don't know if it was because I didn't put the 'The' in the search or what, but never could come across it.

I just wish this had been the video of my favorite song on the album.

Tonight I was messing around, first found a video of one of the songs we liked, or at least I liked.  I am not sure if Roger did, but think he did.  So headed on over to Amazon, and bought the two songs that I absolutely loved and thought I would never have again.  I just can't wait to play them for Roger in the morning and see what he thinks!

If you had to name your favorite song, could you do it?   Could you even name your 5 favorite songs....or your 5 favorite artists?  If I was forced to name a favorite song, it would be Good To Be Home by the Everybodyfields.  There is not a good version on YouTube now.  But truthfully, there are others that I love just as much, it just happens to be one that I listen to more often than any other.  Favorite artist would be impossible to name.

How could I choose between Neil Young, Eagles, Merle Haggard (his old songs), Poco, The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Alison Kraus, Tim Grimm....Coldplay, Three Doors Down--just to name a few.

I leave you with this video...I don't think I have ever had the nerve to post it before.  I know it is different.   I heard this song while working at the orchard...I even remember the part of the orchard I was in when I heard it. I heard it on a local college radio station.  As I said, it is sort of odd, but just listen to the words...and that line 'Let the baby sleep'--well it grabbed me way back then...maybe before Sarah and Jeremy had even met.

  1. What a great surprise to find it, Rose! Sometimes I search for something and strike out, and then look again later and find it. Strange.

  4. I really like Julie Dorions' music. There is a program on CBC radio that plays new music and it's such a treat to hear new tunes from new artists. Julie Dorion is one they feature.
I don't think I could pick just 5 favourite artists or 5 songs...it might be more like 20 favourites... but Lightfoot and The Stones would be certainly be in the mix along with Joni Mitchell (her new stuff), Tragically Hip, Hall & Oates, Feist, Randy Bachman, Jann Arden, Michael Buble, White Horse, Neil Young.....the list goes on

  5. What I would give for music videos of classic singers like we have today! I have done a little searching myself and have been a little disappointed with the sparse numbers of video recordings. My faves would have to be Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell, Alison Krause, Gordon Lightfoot, and Elton John.

  6. Sounds like me when a couple years ago I looked for "Riders of the Purple Sage" on DVD. No such thing. I had seen it on TV years ago. Recently, I went and looked again - and there it was! I immediately ordered it. It's from a Zane Grey book. I think I've read every old western book he ever wrote!

  8. Just give me the old elvis!!! LOL
I like country Western--that's what it used to be called. Merle Haggard, Willie and Waylon. Trick Pony---Dirks--You know the genre. I liked other stuff to but is been a LOONNGG time. I like to go to search and put in a song and then a bunch of the same come up and I can listen to whatever I want. 'Tis fun. Bob likes different stuff then I did although he does like the old country but he liked Folk music too--Joan Baez, Jonie Mitchel etc. I guess i liked some of it too. Easy singing too. MB MB

  10. I love music from the 60's and very early 70's. Oh yes, and the late 50's.
My all time favorite song .... "I Only Have Eyes For You".....by the Flamingos. I swoon whenever I hear it.

  11. I would have to start dividing music in to categories and then maybe pick 5 favorites in each category. I love so many kinds of music and have just always had music in my life. I don't listen to a lot of oldies any more or as many kinds of music as I used to. I tend to mostly listen to praise music now....it just happens to be what I favor at the moment and like to keep in my head. But I still love other types of music, too.

  12. If I had to list my favorite song or artist, the list would be miles long. But I do enjoy the 'old' music much more than some of the newer stuff.

  13. I have to go to YouTube and see what other songs I can find. Lovely voice.
I have too many favorites it wouldn't be possible to list them or choose only one or five.
