A scene from a week or two ago....
It is time for Random 5...I didn't know if there was going to be one so do not have them prepared. Consequently, I have to come up with them on the spur of the moment.
1. First of all, this makes my 6th time of doing a Random 5 post. I thought I had only did two or three. It is one of my favorite memes.
2. The pretty leaf season is almost entirely gone. Every once in a while we come across a tree that still has some color, sometimes even a lot of color. We wonder how they have survived when everything else is bare. Tuesday when we went to Arthur, IL we even saw a couple or three trees that were still green. We really wondered about that.
3. You can actually see my dining room table for a change. I am not quite sure when we began putting stuff on the dining room table, but it has become a real bad habit. I assume when both girls moved out is when it started. And got worse. Now, there is usually coloring books and crayons sitting on it. Add a book or two or three of mine, and the sales ad from the local grocery store. So I cleaned it off yesterday and really want to stop using it as a catch all.
4. The mouse I use is really aggravating....it is so heavy that I will set it aside and be in the middle of something, and it will click where ever the cursor is. Or the page will close down. On its own, or sometimes I just bump it from the side and it does it. So aggravating. Yet it has the back button and the forward button on the side by the thumb that I use so much and was the one most comfortable to my hand. I do not like using the touchpad unless it is the only option available.
5. Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most. I didn't make that up, but it always makes me chuckle; also a bit of truth in it. It always amazes me how I can be sitting sewing, and lose my scissors or thimble or thread or something. Times when I have not gotten up for anything...not moved from my chair. Yet will completely lose something. And will have to spend 15 or 20 minutes to find the item.
Random 5 Friday
LOVE your 5 Randoms! It's not unlike most of us. LOL
ReplyDeleteRose,
ReplyDeleteIt is sad to see the pretty autumn colors fade away.
My Hubby found a wireless mouse that plugs in via USB. One less cord to deal with!
#5 is my favorite! I am young, misplace things and wonder where my mind went.
This week I took the mail to the box and was convinced I lost a bill I had ready to go. I looked high and low finding the lost envelope. After looking in the check register I realized I mailed the check last week. I had 2 envelopes the same size and got the 2 mailings confused.
Oh the fun we have!
Those are beautiful fall trees in the picture. I'm always amazed when I temporarily forget the name of something I know very well. But, I think of them rather quickly most times. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like this meme, too, and I can really relate to No. 5, Rose! Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteditto on number 5, i don't know how we lose something when we never moved away. happens a lot to me.. glad you found your table again, laptops do strange things like opening emails several at a time. i use a mouse to. i put a book on the chair beside me and use the mouse on the book... or use it on the arm of the rocking chair
ReplyDeleteHi Rose! So glad you found me. Some seem to be having troubles.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to the kitchen/dining room table issue. I clean it off and things seem to re-gather. *oy*
HA HA ----We can both belong to the "Lost Your Mind" Club…. I put the cellphone in my pocket --and then can't find it….Somehow it 'crawls' out of my pocket and hides between the sofa cushions… ha ha
ReplyDeleteRainy/drizzly here today--but we are still working in the yard… Still working on our leaves!!! BIG JOB….
There are a few trees still hanging onto their leaves… Wish those trees would go ahead and drop their leaves so that we could get that job finished!!!!!
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
I love reading your random 5. About the table--mine too!! It seems that where ever a clean flat space it it will get filled up with---whatever. It seems like nonsense but it's for real.

Each time I visit your blog I have to sneak a picture of Lorelei. She just melts my heart. What a beautiful fall shot. No more of that door here. It is dreary already. Loved reading your random 5. I can definitely relate to #5. My brain is fried with age and just old wear and tear.I lost stuff all the time and the sewing stuff is the worst. Hope you have a nice weekend. Bud and I are off to WV again for him to run in a race tomorrow. If you read my post about the last No-Tell-Motel, my prayer is he got something better this time. He promised me...but he is a hiker and a runner and they do have a different midst.hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteI am fond of Random Friday too. It's a great meme.
ReplyDeleteYour #5 sounds very familiar and I forget what else I was going to write:) B
ReplyDeleteMy dining room table is also a gathering place, mostly of mail and my "stuff." I clean it off and vow to do better, but things get piled up once again. :-)
ReplyDeleteTotally random Random 5's are the best! I never thing ahead about mine - just post what's on my mind. Speaking of minds, perhaps yours is off with mine somewhere :)
ReplyDeleteWe are down to the browns here in Massachusetts. The bright color is gone. I can sympathize with your dining room table problem. I have the same problem with my kitchen island. I do love my back and forward buttons on my mouse. Would hate to do without them!
ReplyDeleteI've been missing my own mind a bit lately! lol
ReplyDeleteI have one better than that. I bought a fancy new cordless mouse when I bought my laptop. I have never seen it since. Cats must have got it.
ReplyDeleteGreat Random 5 ... it is my favorite meme.
ReplyDeletewe are both in school again and so our dining room table ends up with computers and study papers and all sorts of other things as well.
