Snow, snowing, snowing

I went to bed at 3:00 a.m. and it was not snowing...got up a few minutes past 7:00 and we had two or three inches of snow then.  It has not quit snowing this entire day.   I thought it was going to stop at one point a short while ago but I was wrong.

The birds have been at the feeders all day long...house sparrows, cardinals, juncos, starlings, tufted titmice, house finch and gold finches, some kind of woodpecker which I think was a downy....oh, and a nuthatch or two.  And doves. It is grand central station out there.

Lorelei made it through her surgery and it has done made a difference in her life.  She always had a runny nose going and usually had a slight cough.  Not like a cold exactly but she would cough a couple times every so often.  We were constantly at her to blow her nose, or to wipe it...she does not have that problem at all now.

She had tubes put in her ears, and her hearing seems back to normal. She did get a stomach flu over New Years but is past it now.

I am going to try to get back to blogging...now that the holidays are past.  Will be gradually getting back in the swing of things I hope.

Glad Lorelei got through her surgery. Kids have alot of trouble with nose/ear problems. Hope that helps her.

  3. Good to hear the surgery was a success.
We had snow too and it was in the teens then warmed to the forties the last couple of days and most of the snow melted today but we are supposed to get snow tonight and temps lower than the last 20 years.
Happy New Year to you and Roger.

  4. I'm glad Lorelei is feeling better.

It has been snowing here all day too. It must be a very big storm system.

It's good to see you blogging again!

  5. Glad Lorelei's surgery went well. Then to get the flu? pffft!
We have had such mild temps here. Near 40 during the day. Upper teens at night. And gorgeous blue sky. Makes me wanna work in the yard! ha ha! Yea right. No moisture which is concerning.
    Stay warm!

  6. Yay! You're back! Send some of that snow to California. We are having a drought out here.

Your bird feeders are whimsical with the snow piled up high on top of them.

    Glad Lorelei's surgery was successful.

  7. I'm glad the surgery went so well! Sure she is, too.

That's a lot of snow and you are welcome to it. It's mighty cold here now, but clear skies.

  8. Awe, I'm so glad her surgery went well. We've had a couple of kids have tubes put in. Our son in lower Michigan said so far they had gotten 14 inches as of 6:00 p.m. tonight, and it was still snowing.

  11. Somehow I missed that Lorelei was having surgery. I'm glad that is past and she's doing well. Great snow shots. A surprising depth of snow arriving so quickly.

  12. I'm pleased to hear that Lorelei is feeling better. Did she get grommets in her ears. Our Karen had them and her adenoids out when she was 2 (she is now 23). She used to get ear infections ALL the time before she had the grommets. She has not had any problems since.
Your pictures are so pretty - snow does make for a lovely picture doesn't it?

  14. My daughter Sarah had to have tubes in her ears too. She was hearing like she was under water when she was little. I'm glad it's helping Miss L. Your snow pictures are beautiful.

  15. Stopping by to say hi and wish you and your family a happy and healthy new year. I was MIA over the holidays, like a lot of folks, just too busy with everything else.

I see now that Lorelei had her tonsils out. Glad to hear the good report and that she is doing so well. It's not fun (the surgery). I had mine out at the age of 4, but oh it made such a huge difference. I hardly got sick after that. Back then, the doctor told my parents I would go deaf if I did not have my tonsils removed. I was forever getting ear infections. This was before tubes in the ears.

I, too, thought the snow would never stop coming down on Sunday! It was so pretty, though. I've had enough of this deep freeze, however. Thankfully, we have not lost power, so I really should not complain.

    Stay warm!

  16. So happy to hear Lorelei is recovering so well. My little grandson had the same symptoms and his tonsils removed and tubes in his ears a couple of years ago and has been doing great ever since... no more runny nose and he can hear now. I am glad you will be getting back to your blog....so many bloggers including myself have had so much going on that there has not been much time to blog....Life should become a little less hectic for awhile....stay warm...
