In the wind....

This was taken a few years ago....at an Amish farm.

The sun shone and the sky was blue today, and it was oh, so nice.  After two days of overcast skies and so chilly of needing a jacket to be outside, I have returned to thinking just maybe summer is better than winter!

I just need to start being up and out early when the heat starts.  If I get up and am out as the day heats up, it does not bother me near as bad as when I wait and it hits me full force the first time.

At least it is good weather for hanging out clothes, which I did today.  Two loads....may do another tomorrow.

I had to go to Walmart....I am not even saying how much I spent on catfood.  The bad thing is it will not last the month.  I sometimes think how far the money would go in feeding hungry people, but then who would take care of the cats.  Does anyone else have these weird thoughts?  It goes through my mind every so often.

I finally got to sew a few lines this evening...the first time in a few days other than helping Lorelei sew a few lines.  I am hoping to get back to my projects...yes, projects.  I was waiting to get more batiks for my daughter's quilt and started a baby quilt.  I will probably finish it before I get back to her quilt....I am not sure when the baby is due, but just want to finish it now that it is started.  And since it is small, it won't take too long.

  1. It's good that you are back sewing again. I know how much quilting and playing with fabric means to you!

It has been rather chilly here too but I still prefer cold to heat. ;))

  2. I can't handle the heat and humidity of summer; I wilt like old lettuce. As it heats up my gardening and yard 'chores' will be done in the early mornings and late evenings.

  4. good idea to teach L to sew early, i wish i could and had a sewing machine.. i love the photo and i bet it is a job to pull the pulley to get them up that high. but it looks like with all their trees that is about the only place for a clothes line... i never thought about what i feed the dogs, and still will not. we can't take care of the whole world and the dogs keep us healthy.

  5. Love the clothes on the line photo.
How fun to be able to teach Lorelei to sew. I have good memories of grandma teaching me.

  6. Lovely farm and I like to see clothes on the line. I don't have a clothes line anymore. I used to love to hang clothes out which I used to do and when the children were little I loved to hang out diapers and snap them when I took them down to fold them. Of course who uses diapers today?? My children are old now and even their children are all grown up----I am not old though.
Cats gotta eat ya know. We use up a lot of birdseed but we enjoy the birds.

  7. Rose you will enjoy the book because you quilt and you will understand the feelings about making something. Well worth the read. I need to get some quilting done urgently, as Nora's quilt is still sitting here waiting for the binding to be put on!!

  10. I know what you mean, worrying about the animals if there is a disaster, or something. It will be so hard for them.
