Almost finished....

Before I show you this, I will tell you that the pieces were all cut free-hand with the rotary cutter.  The sides and borders are not supposed to be straight, though I did not have the nerve to cut them with the curve I would have liked.
This was an experiment from start to finish.  Ricky Tims showed how to make this 'flower' on Simply Quilts a long time ago.  Most of you have probably never heard of Ricky Tims...he is a well known quilter and teacher.  To see some his work I just googled his name and clicked on images....here.
I played with quilting....I guess you could say I was doodling with my needle instead of an ink pen.
I like it better in person than in these pics...

I still have to do something to finish the edges and then it is done...

  2. Love this!! You are so creative and talented Rose. In my mind, I can see three of these little beauties, individually framed and hanging on a wall. They'd look good in the bedroom with the Lotus quilt!!

  5. Goodness Rose, that looks such a difficult task to complete but it's gorgeous. Seeing it come together must be such a satisfying feeling, especially coming out as well as this. I am always impressed with your skills.

  10. Oh I love it in pics. But I can't see it in person LOL. I know who Ricky Tims is. Actually my quild had him do a shop many moons ago!
I love this piece. Your quilting is fabulous. I don't have working machine that I can FMQ right now. I want to do pebbles soooo bad!
Thanks for sharing your lovely piece.
    Have a good weekend!

  11. Wow, so pretty and artistic! I love the colors! The central background colors (when looking at the first image) remind me of log cabin siding. :-)
