The Lotus quilt top is together!

This is on a queen sized bed---it is for a King size.  I am so glad to have it together at long last.  Now to figure what will do as a backing and batting.  At first Daughter wanted to just use flannel for the backing.  I knew I could handle that.  But then she decided she wanted a thing batting, and either a batik or just plain cotton fabric for the backing.

I have no idea how I will get this done.   The thing is I really would like to be able to do the quilting myself...I just like to do my projects from start to finish.  But the size of this one may force other options.  We shall see.

  6. Wow! Big! No wonder it was a struggle. But it is gorgeous! I haven't quilted my Daybreak quilt yet but I really liked quilting the table toppers made from the extra blocks. For some reason that Hex shape was really easy to work with. Make a few extra blocks and play, it helps a lot(sorry I know you don't like them).

  8. Awesome! Your daughter must be so please with the results. Batiks always looks so lovely on a quilt. Is it possible to rent a long arm so that you can quilt it yourself?

  9. Looks like you have done a wonderful job with the piecing of the quilt. I had to have my king quilt done by someone with a long-arm, but it's pretty pricey. I could have bought a quilt for a lot less than what I have in this one!

  11. I have decided that I am going to get into my secret jar of magic dust....that same dust I use on our little girls...and wish the magically one morning is completely finished for you. Think it will work? This photo of it is gorgeous. No wonder you are worn out. Am still pretty much out of commission. That fall really did me in. Have been painting in my journal but that is about all.Take care. genie
