Today we went down to Goose Pond...it was a rainy, foggy day...but managed to get some photos of Pelicans and Whooping Cranes! First I will show you this little video. My little camera is very hard to hold steady when zoomed in.
Be sure and watch to the end...I think it is only about 35 seconds long. Again, I apologize for the quality.

Along with the Pelicans, we saw 3 Whooping Cranes!
They were spread out, so not such a great pic, but wanted to show that there were three.
It was wonderful to get to see them, even if it was misting rain the entire time. My little camera seems to be okay...but it sure got sprinkled on.
i would love to see that many pelicans.. they look like they are on a conveyer belt, just gliding along. beautiful. the camera we have been talking about is heavy enough it is easier to hold.
Wow! I had no idea there were pelicans here! The only time I have seen them in the wild was in Idaho. How exciting, too, that you were able to see the Whooping Cranes!

Good morning Rose!:) It is wonderful to see so many Pelicans, and I enjoyed seeing them in the vídeo just gliding along being carried by the current. That's a great shot of the three Whooping Cranes too, with nice golden colour in the foreground.
Gosh so many Rose.. your camera did a super job of videoing them moving along there. I don't think I've ever seen so many pelicans together in one spot.
Are you sure they aren't on a conveyor belt. I've only seen the white ones once. Over on the Yakima River in eastern Washington. quite neat to see. We have brown ones out on the ocean. MB
Oh, wow....I want to go! What great birds. I saw the cranes there several years ago, but never pelicans. What a great find for you with both birds! Any small waders hanging around?
I don't think of pelicans being in your neck of the woods but rather in Florida on the Atlantic. Liked your little video, and you did not shake that much, It was good. Yes, I posted ahead of time so had to go back. I am still exhausted. Yesterday did nothing but today hope to function a bit better.

Very exciting to see so many white pelicans at one time Rose, loved the video. To see the cranes too? That was a great birding day.

And I just thought there were whooping cranes in Arizona. I read that in some goofy novel. Obviously not true.
