Yesterday, we went down and sat by the river for a few minutes...as you can see it would not take much for it to be out of the banks....

But expand the view of the photo...notice the birds along the top of the trestle....

It is pigeons.  They were coming and going the few minutes we were there.  I had suggested going down there in the hopes of seeing an eagle but no such luck.

Today has been an okay day.  I have stayed busy, with things inside.  It has rained off and on all day long.  I don't think it went 30 minutes straight without raining.   And at one point Roger was taking the garbage out, the sun was shining bright and it was raining at the same time.  I kept glancing for a rainbow but did not see one.

  4. Oh Rose, you have have had a lot to deal with lately. I love what Nancy Chan said, and I hope that beautiful rainbow does appear. I love seeing that big old bridge over the river and the birds sitting way up there.

  7. We had crazy amounts of rain yesterday, too. The sun seems to be coming out today, though. I hope you get some better weather soon.

  8. We have had huge amounts of rain here. Feb. and March were record breaker for the amount of rain we've had and it still continues into April. Pigeons are like pack animals or should pack flocks but that doesn't sound right. LOL
We all feel better after a drive.

  10. That river looks like it just might overflow if more rain comes.
It's so refreshing to get out and about....isn't it?
    Thanks for sharing.

  12. A bay of the St. Joseph River is at the end of my road. The river is only 3 blocks away. We travel over one of the bridges every day and I am always aware of the banks which are covered with trees where there are not houses. They are a gage for the seasons and most pretty in the fall. I look for the ducks and swans too and always watching for men fishing off the bridge. I love living by the river. Thankfully we are on the high side.

  13. I love these old bridges, you took two great photos. Hope you don't get any flooding. It has rained heavily today with high winds, and we even had hail. Now the sun is out. Enjoy the rest of your day Rose.

  14. That is so funny. They sit in a row on the bridge just like they do on power lines! Well, at least they can't get electrocuted this way. LOVE that reflection in your first picture!!!

  16. I really like your bridge photo. It's so dramatic with the rusted ironwork and the river, full to bursting, and the birds up on top. Sorry to hear you're having so much rain. It gets depressing after a while. In Ireland, where I come from, we often have "sun showers" at this time of the year. It rains and the sun shines and often there's a rainbow all at the same time. Here in London, however, we're having really dry weather. I've been planting for summer, and I'm out with my watering can every night.
