One side finished....

Daughter came this weekend and we worked on the other valances we are making.  This is one side finished....not sure what to do about the wrinkles.  They got that way in traveling home.  They are stapled on a 'cornice'...not sure if that is the correct term or not.  It is a wooden form that fits over the window.  Click to expand the view and you will see the beads along the bottom.

This is how they look from a distance...oh, and neither picture is the right color.  The fabric is definitely blue...it has some mingled color of tan/off white...I tried to change the color and these are too dark.  At least on my computer.

Edited to add:
We have to make another set to go on the other side of the fireplace.  You can barely see the other window at the edge of the photo.

  8. I like this look! About the wrinkles. My daughter uses a steamer on EVERYTHING. It's one of those hand held things that you can keep in your suitcase if a suit wrinkles while traveling. They are pretty inexpensive. It might work.

  9. I went back on your January 2009 (Squirrel)
What fun, there is just something about making a friend
    with wild life.
Bennie's squirrel has not taken the nuts from his hand yet.
Some days he will show up afternoons but most early morning.

  14. It's so strange how the computer gets colors so wrong sometimes.

You could try spraying them lightly with water and 'wipe' the wrinkles with your hand. That might get a few of the wrinkles out.

  15. They look great, Rose. You may be able to get the creases out of the fabric with a steam iron. If you steam them where they are, the weight of the fabric should pull itself into place and look amazing.
