Just a bit of this and that....

First a photo from a few days ago...I meant to include it on my other blog but did not get it done.  so I will post it here.

********
I had to take Roger in to get his prescriptions renewed yesterday.  Then had to take him back this morning before he ate to have lab work done.  Then he has his allergy shots every other Thursday.  So that was this afternoon.  He went in and was in there longer than normal.  Usually he is in and right back out.

He said he sat there  a while and then someone came out and told him no one was there today to give shots.  So, I don't know if someone else gave him his last shot, and did not know to give him a paper to give to me that told the changes, or if they just expected him to read the changes.  The nurse that usually gives him his shots, she always knows to send something to me.  But every now and then someone else gives the shot and would not know he has had a stroke and does not function quite normal. He does not pay attention to things like that now.  It would be a struggle for him to read, and even if he read it, he would be apt to forget what it said and/or forget to tell me.
***********
The above was started  last night but did not finish.  I lost track of what all I was going to tell.  And now, I need to get dressed now and take Roger to breakfast.  I pick up Lorelei after school today and she is spending the night.  Then, our daughter that lives in St Louis is coming to sew tomorrow.

I hope you all have a good weekend ahead .

  2. did you find out from the office if he got the shot or not and what was said or not said? maybe what your forgot you were going to post was that? I write myself notes to remember a post and then when I go to use them, I have jotted down just a few words and they make not one iota of sense to me.
doctor visits must be really aggravating. can you do what I do? Bob has never seen a doctor that I am not sitting there, if I don't go in with him he would not go. would Roger mind if you went with him?
I love the wing spread on that vulture. great shot.
yay for a visit from Lorelei and your other daughter

  3. Enjoy your sewing together. Hope you & granddaughter had a fun sleepover. Ya, I think I'd go in with hubby like Sandra said above. It wouldn't hurt & help you out a lot! Love the vultures! (Hope you can find time to link in at I'd Rather B Birdin tomorrow)

  4. A couple of days ago, I went visiting and found myself admiring your photos over on your photography blog. Your vulture pictures are outstanding. Who would have thought vultures could be so photogenic! I know you are going to enjoy having visitors. What fun to sew with your daughter.

  5. Well, it is good that he is willing to go to the doctor, not like a wonderful blogger's husband that we know! I am hoping for Lorelei pics next time! This is an excellent Vulture shot!

  6. Have a great weekend with the girls!

    Great photo of the vultures.

I hate it when the Health professionals aren’t doing due diligence with the jobs.

  7. You are carrying a heavy load, with needing to be there for Roger and all that. I know you do it willingly, but it must still be hard at times.

  9. Sorry you and Roger had to sit and wait for nothing. I would hope that the nurses would know enough to give an actual note so Roger would know not to come in.
Have fun sewing with you daughter and Lorelei!!

  12. Nice photo of the vultures. It is not easy taking care of a stroke patient, plus need to do the remembering of his doc and clinic appointments and medication. Hope you have a good time with Lorelei and your sewing with your daughter. Happy weekend!

  13. Hello Rose
Thank you for visiting my blog. You asked about the coughing method Tom uses, at the moment he is using the tucking chin method but swallowing at the same time. He is finding this very good although every now and then he just has to let a big cough go, lol.
With Tom's complaint being his lungs it makes his much more breathless when he coughs and is very distressing for him and for me to watch so we are so grateful to this doctor for telling us about this leaflet.
As you know, its not only the patient who suffers from the cough but the loved one as well and we were both very stressed, this has helped a lot.
If your husband has had a stroke it may be that one of the other methods will be better.
I do hope that you both can get some relief.
The allergy idea is something for us to think about as I do think in this world today allergies count for a lot.
    Hugs

  14. Are you unable to go in with him? Just wondering because I have to go with Terry unless it's just a blood draw. Sometimes when med people call the house they are nice, other times they question why I want them to talk to me and I have to hand the phone to him to give the OK. Sometimes all this is overwhelming and gives me anxiety.

Yay, Lorelei is coming and your daughter is visiting. Have a great visit.
    xx, Carol
