Progress

I forgot to post this in my last post...our daughter that lives in Missouri came the day after Christmas and we made two more sections...there are 5 sections in this photo...3 on top and two in bottom row.  I think there are 4 sections to each row.  I am not sure how long it actually takes to make the two sections because we do other stuff besides sew.  This is something she designed...she got the idea from a basket she saw.

I think I got all the wrapping paper and gift bags put away today.  I had thought I was done with Christmas other than the nativity and Christmas stocking, and walked in and saw all of that stuff.  I didn't have the energy to do it when I first realized I had left it out.  And I am wondering what else I will find.  I always find something.

***********
How many of you make lists?  Some of the women I admire most make lists but I never have.  I always had one in my head...now my head is empty and does not retain my lists so I really need to start making physical lists.

Another thing...do you reward yourself for getting jobs done?  I was always one to do the things I liked the least, first, and the jobs I liked better were my reward.  Or maybe I would allow myself to read a few pages once I accomplished something.  Now, it is apt be I allow myself to visit a few blogs.  Or play Mah Jong Dimensions.

I am going to leave you with a video....I may have shown it sometime in the past, but it is funny any time I watch it.

I hope you enjoy it even half as much as I do.

  2. I am working on getting Christmas stuff put away too. Taking a break now to read some blogs and comment. Putting away Christmas stuff is a big job - bigger than getting it all out, because you have to make it all fit back together for storage. Not as fun either, but that's life. I love the quilt. I have always wanted to learn to quilt. Hope I have the time to do it someday! Love that video!

  3. The quilt is going to be gorgeous! Love the colors and the fabrics. I think I've said it before, your daughter should be a pattern designer.
My memory is about as long a a thought, if I don't write it down it's gone. I have lists for everything.

I got the last of my Christmas stuff put away yesterday...now I just need to find a spot to put the boxes.

    Have a happy New Year!

  4. I love the quilt! That is a different version of a more traditional pattern and I like the change. I got my Christmas gift wrap and such put away today but that is just the start of packing up Christmas for me. Tomorrow I will work on the various house decorations and save the tree for another day. I have been sick with a cold and sinus infection the past week and I'm moving slow!

I am a list maker as I probably would not remember much otherwise! Besides, it is so much fun to mark things off the list!

May you, your husband and you family have a Happy and Healthy New Year!

  5. If I don't write it down, I would forget what I want to do (or buy). Bud & I also have a work list in the garage of jobs that B ith of us need to work together on, and the jobs are crossed off as we finish. Or we add jobs. It's never completed.

HAPPY New Year Rose. Love the quilt & colors.

  9. The quilt is so pretty. That is neat that you guys work together on things.
I am a huge list maker - I would never get anything done if I didn't.
It is amazing the little things you always find that should have been put away but get missed.

  10. just like all your other friends. LOVE THE QUILT! the design and the colors. beautiful.
if I don't write things down they never get done. I list everything, grocery list is kept running by the phone on kichen counter. when the house gets out of control I write down everything I have not done for weeks or months. then I go on the blog and say I am taking time off for to do list. since I really despise not blogging and getting/giving comments, it forces me to do the list and cross off as I finish. I always leave the one I despise the most for last.

  11. I love the quilt and I love that you and your daughter work together on these projects! After all the Christmas stuff was boxed and put away, I found one ball that was hiding in a corner. It gets to stay out until next year. Lucky little shiny ball!

  13. I love your daughter's pattern and quilt top. It is lovely. I always forget to put something away. I found a tiny tree after I thought I had everything put in the attic. I do make lists. Sometimes they are on paper and other times on my phone. Sincere best wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year in 2020.

  14. This quilt is beautiful too!!
Sometimes I make lists but not as a rule.

One good way to make a list is do do something AND THEN add it to the list. At the end of the day everything on your list gets done!! : )

I do jobs just like you do!!

  16. The quilt is beautiful and your daughter has a designer eye. I love Mah Jong dimensions too. don't worry about the things you forget---I always find somethings left over---no prob. We were taught to do the least favored first and the best last---I seem to have reversed that order. haha

HAPPY NEW YEAR and may only good happen
