Causing trouble...

So, I took Roger to the Physicians Assistant at the ENT's office to check his ear and remove any wax.  I was not allowed to go back with him, but I told the nurse what he was there for.  He was back there just a few minutes, and out he came.  See that little bitty dome shaped piece.  That was what was in his ear.  I hate to think how long it has been there.

In real life it is  a  bit bigger than a B-B....for those of you have not ever had a B-B gun, B-Bs are not even a quarter inch across.  Anyway this piece is called the dome.  They fit back in his ear and are out of sight when in use.  I can only remember him losing one that we did not find.  My memory is not the best and I hope I have forgotten one.  But thatthe one I remember was over a year ago.

Anyway, Roger said, "I can hear so much better!"

This is a pic Lorelei sent me one morning...I am not sure whose lap Rosie is on.  She is sure a loving little dog.

Then my other daughter sent me this pic, along with others of Delta and Copper.  Look how tall and how skinny Copper is.  He is all energy.

I have a little feel good story for you.  My windshield wiper messed up a while back...kind of like it was sticking.  Just a bit more than how they do when the window is not good and wet.  Then it seemed to work just fine and I thought well, that was it.

Earlier this week, I had to run to Terre Haute to get the serum for Roger's allergy shots.  On the way there, it really went all goofy.  It was raining...and I almost turned around and came home.  But the sky was beginning to lighten up like the rain was about at an end so I went on, picked it up and came home.  We brought it home cause it has to be refrigerated.  I brought it in to stick in the fridge, and when I went back out, Roger was standing there with the whole wiper blade in his hand.  Not just the rubber insert...he said when he raised the arm, it just fell off.

So off to Napa we went...he went in with me, and told the guy we wanted both wiper blades...he took the old one in.  I had to go to because it is times like when the Napa guy asked what kind of vehicle we had, Roger cannot answer.  So I told him...

I went in there hoping someone would come out and put them on, but I was not going to ask.  We are so short that it is not just an easy job.  Sure enough, he went back and got them and said, let me put them on for you!  He was tall enough till he could reach and do both wipers from one side.   Of course we told him thank you, and that we appreciated it.  And went back in to pay, and he told me they were on sale...I honestly wondered if he was just giving us a sale price because of our age.

Anyway.  People just do not realize how much little touches of kindness can mean.  If that had been me putting the wipers on, I would have had to get something to stand on, or what I normally do is open the door and stand there on the floor board...for lack of a better word.

  2. I'm sure glad they found that part of the hearing aid! I guess he does hear better now! I just love it when people are kind and helpful like the man at Napa. It really does make a difference doesn't it? It also restores our faith in mankind.

  3. I have a good friend who did the SAME thing with his hearing aid! A doctor had to extract it from his ear. Funny, you would think that you would know it was in there, but I guess you can't feel it once it's in there awhile. Great about the wipers, you could have fallen off a stool if you tried to put them on!

  4. This whole post is a feel good post! I know Roger feels good after getting it out because Bob had one get in there but we knew it was there we just couldn't get it out we could barely see the tip of it and we had to go where we bought it and they used a machine to look inside his ear so that they could reach it. I also one time had to take him to the ER or urgent care because he got the end of a Q-tip came off in his ear and they had to remove it. You know how much I love the f*** pictures! I'm loving the windshield wiper story God bless people who help others

  6. definitely a plus on "hearing better" and less stress for wondering why Roger wasn't responding so well to whatever you said. As for the wipers, when I had a car, I had them replaced before winter when my car was in for say an oil change or similar.

  7. I guess losing part of a hearing aid in one's ear isn't all that rare because the exact thing happened to my DH. He didn't even miss that part. Just thought he had lots of ear wax.

  9. Love when business people go the extra mile! It's good to know there are still nice people in a world that can seem so rude sometimes.

Also glad Roger can hear better now. :-)

  12. A friend of ours had to go to the ER and have it removed. Yes, kindness is a wonderful thing especially when it involves such good customer service.

  17. Rose, I have been unable to comment on your posts with my new iPad, they are returned due to dmarc, whatever that is. I am so happy for Roger! I have hearing problems in my left ear and was told I should get a hearing aid but haven't. And I really like NAPA. They always install my wipers too.You are a busy lady!🌸

  18. When I had a hearing aide, the whole thing, has to come out at night, and be cleaned. Doesn't he have to do that, too?

As far as doctor's offices not letting my husband and I, go in together...... We have taken care of that!!!!! His eyesight is not good. We over-emphasize it, by him walking, holding my arm. >,-) And we say: "We ARE going in, together!"

It's amazing, how being forceful, works. Try it!!!!

  20. Wow I wonder how that dome came off. I know when I clean Bob's you really have to pull and tug on the dome to get it off. I bet he hears a lot better.

  23. I have found the gentlemen at the auto supply stores to always be kind and helpful. I park my car right up by the store window so they can see what it is because I forget what it is every time I go in. I read the label, walk in, and will have forgotten the name before they can even ask me. Memory isn't what it used to be.
