We have been having weather that changes but thankfully not the violent weather that some are having. It was so strange...we had thunder and lightning, but could see sunshine through the storm. I have seen rain and sun at the same time plenty of times, but don't remember seeing it storming, and wind blowing like crazy but able to see sunshine on past it. It was as if just a few of the houses had it. It lasted a few minutes and the rainbow appeared. There was actually a double, but doesn't show here.
********* I vacuumed this day and ran to walmart for a few items, balanced checkbook. Does anyone else balance their checkbook? I never hear anyone mention it, and several say they just glance at the statement to see if they see anything they don't recognize.
Of course I had dishes to do. We have a dishwasher, but I just always seem to do them by hand. When I was a kid, washing dishes after the evening meal was my job. I hated it...and would try to put it off. Mom would always say that I could wait, but that I would have to get up and do them the first thing the next morn. If I had had a dishwasher then, it would have been used. There was always something more fun to do than wash dishes.

We have never had a dishwasher in over 50 years. Beautiful photo, and I think I can see the second rainbow on the outside of this one. But very faintly.
ReplyDeleteI used to find doing dishes the worst housekeeping job around - now I have got used to it and don't mind so much.
ReplyDeleteCheckbooks don't exist here in NZ anymore as all the banks have done away with them. I still like to keep a check on my spending though - I can do it online, or else I would be quite lost and probably end up spending too much! Love the rainbow :)

ReplyDeleteI do dishes in the sink and have since I was 8 years old which means 71 years of dishes.. I too did them after the evening meal. not hard to do now because we have 2 plates and forks to wash. the pots I hate. but not as many as used to do.. I have not balanced a check book since I got our debit card and internet, I think about 2009 or 2010. I have only written 1 check a year since then, and since bob is not able to go to the flying club, I canceled that so no checks at all. I pay all bills by credit card auto charge or online at the bank. I double I remember how to write a check or balance.

The rainbow is lovely.
I could list a long list of things that are much, much better than washing dishes :-)) and I've been using a dishwasher for a long time... but I still remember what it was like to wash by hand... especially after parties when I did was a young mother and we invited friends. I didn't have a dishwasher back then :-((
ReplyDeleteNowadays, when I cook nice things and spend a long time in the kitchen, it often happens that my husband cleans up the kitchen, i.e. puts all the dishes in the dishwasher - that's love, isn't it? It happens without words and I let him do it... happily.
We had a rainbow yesterday. I also took photos.

ReplyDeleteI do check my account every day. Since some things were done to us as fraud we keep a very close eye on things.
I love our new dishwasher and since there are just the two of us most of the time. It takes a while to have a full load.

ReplyDeleteWe once saw it pouring rain in the front yard but nothing in the back. The boys were running from the living room to the kitchen to see the difference. They kept running back and forth, back and forth. I wasn't excited. The vegetable garden is in the backyard and it needed water.
