Not from here...not today

These are pics my oldest daughter took and sent to me a few days ago from the west coast...she and a friend went here to hike...for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the park. Just look how those kids are there without their shirts...can you imagine being able to do that around here in the middle of January? I immediately thought of George and Betsy when I seen the waterfall...according to Daughter, this is the smaller of two waterfalls in this park. She and her friend are going to have to go back to find the larger one.
I just love the view here...love the feel of the place. I would love to be able to ramble around there and see what I could see....

A major winter storm is headed our way, ice comes first--maybe up to an inch of it....then as far as inches of snow, right now they are saying 3-5 inches. Just west and north of here...maybe an hour away they are saying up to nine inches of snow, but less ice.

I knew ice was headed our way tomorrow evening/night but had not seen the actual forecast till tonight. But knowing the ice was coming, we decided to make a quick run over to Indianapolis to see Lorelei and her mommy. She was in high form today...really tickled and excited to see us. I figure I better enjoy that while it lasts!!!

She danced and she sang and she jabbered....hardly still a single minute. She also has an old cell phone that she plays with...and she is always pretend talking to her Da-da! You can tell from that that he sure rates high in her world. And some of the faces she makes are priceless...and she is doing them on purpose to make us laugh.

As you can tell, it was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.

  1. Great pics, that waterfall is very pretty. From the lack of shirts and the scenery in the last photo she must have been way south of here. My part of the west coast is too cold to be in tee shirts.

I heard about your approaching storm, stay warm and safe.

  2. Gorgeous waterfall... You will have to ask your daughter where she was --so that you can tell us.. I hope we get out that way sometime to see some the beautiful waterfalls.

Glad you made the trip to see your precious granddaughter...

Have a good day.. Hope you don't get that storm.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  4. Nice waterfall! I hope your ice storm doesn't come this far south. We may get something by Wednesday...I hope it isn't real bad. I still remember that horrible ice storm from a couple years ago. Keep warm! Hope it isn't as bad as it sounds.

  5. That is a fine looking waterfall. I'm glad you got to make a quick trip to see lorelei before the ice storm hits. That much ice would be very hard on the trees and power lines. I hope you all got through that time okay.

  6. Neat waterfall, Rose! You must be getting the snow we're supposed to get later. We've just gotten back from a visit with relatives in Upstate New York and can't believe we had very little snow in the past seven days. Well, at least we'll be home if we DO get a lot of snow tonight or tomorrow.

What a joy Lorelei continues to be! It's so wonderful that she is so outgoing and likes to make people laugh.

  7. I'm glad you were able to see Lorelei before the storm hits. I only hope the storm isn't as bad as they say it is going to be.
Thanks for thinking of us when you see a pretty one like the one your daughter photographed.

  8. We have been getting snow all day. Our road was pretty snow covered and hard to get up earlier today. Now I think I'm craving some weather like your pictures here.

  9. That waterfall would be ice!
I hope the storm isn't too bad. It looks like we will be right in the path to miss it this time. I hope so. I like snow not ice.
    Stay warm and be careful!

  10. Love waterfalls. Thank your daughter for sending such nice photos. I'm trying to think of where this could be - obviously there is a large, flat valley there...Phoenix?

It was warm enough here to go shirtless today! About 73.

Sorry about the storm coming down on you. Stay in and stay safe!

And thank you for your very nice comments on our blogs today!

  11. I had the grandkids longer than usual this past weekend, so we all climbed into bed to nap. I turned the tv on low and Kena wanted the remote. I gave her the old cell phone she had been playing with and told her it works like a remote as well.

Will I ever stop deceiving the sweet girl? BWAH!
