Yes, this is from this year...and it was taken a couple weeks ago...we keep seeing a few more touches of color here and there.
Of course, poison ivy is always one of the first things to change...you just have to admit it is beautiful when it is changing. If it wasn't for the itch factor, it would be tempting to have it for its autumn colors.
We have been having such beautiful weather....and sitting out late of the evening or stepping outside after dark, it really feels and sounds like fall. Next week, though, we are supposed to have temps in the 90's with a heat index maybe reaching 100ยบ. I don't suppose we will enjoy that.

I am in the process of pin basting one of my quilts together...just had to take a break. Crawling around on the floor on my knees for so long really gets to me. At least if it is too hot, I will have that to work on next week.
enjoy your cool and think about us roasting down here
ReplyDeleteYes----it's hard to believe that August is almost over. I was working on my August 30th blog post --and was surprised that this month is gone!
ReplyDeleteFALL should be here soon. I haven't seen many 'signs' up here yet --but I'm sure we will soon...
Love that first photo.
Hugs,
Betsy
Beautiful picture! We are still roasting in summer here in California.
ReplyDeleteJust a thought about you crawling around on your knees. I got a small step stool--about 1 foot tall. I sit on that when I pin baste on the floor. Much more comfortable.
Though we are having warm weather again, the trees are turning here.
ReplyDeleteHey! Is that poison ivy there? Wow, just the one leaf of it is beautiful. I LOVE fall, but HATE to see wonder coming!!! But so cool to see the signs of change, I will be doing it as well.
ReplyDeleteI will miss the summer. But I do like the cool evenings. Its so quite outside. Well, the occasional MOOOO or howl from the coyotes. We are starting our "fall" work on Monday. Sorting pairs. Heifers from steers. :)
ReplyDeleteFall is in the air around here too, albeit we've have some really hot days!
ReplyDeleteI like Fall. I like the colors. Out here the Vine Maples which are a native tree--forget the word vine--are starting to turn beautiful red. They always start in August but it is a Fall sign.
ReplyDeleteMaybe knee pads for the 'on the floor' quilting work. MB
These are fine pre-fall shots of emerging color. We have a few with small area of changing colors too, but our temperatures are in the 80°, but with cooler nights.
ReplyDeleteOue weather forecaster was saying that all the trees are stressed and it causes premature fall colours due to the lack of water. We thankfully had a good dose of rain today.

We're having lovely late summer weather here and I HATE to think another hot spell might spoil it. C'est la vie!
ReplyDeleteIn Michigan we have fall like weather one week and hot weather the next....
ReplyDeleteI adore Autumn and your photos are so nice. Have a lovely evening.
