This sign caught my eye the first thing...it is not old. At least I assumed it wasn't as there were two or three more scattered around the place. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of the little shop. It was in just small little old building...and divided in half. I don't know if it had always been that way or if she had had it done to give herself more wall space.
I really, really liked the sign but I came home without it. I was proud of myself.
This was in the same shop...I love it. Again, I did not bring it home. It is Roseville...$125 if I remember correctly. It is beautiful. I just went to Picassa and enlarged this pic...the name of the place is The Cherry Tree. You can read about it here. And this is their facebook page. I really did enjoy looking in her shop. I am so trying not to bring in any more stuff...I still hoping to get back to decluttering...
*******************
I think it was last fall at a flea market during covered bridge, a lady had what appeared to be Roseville but she said it was fake. I forget how to tell the difference. I am in no way implying the above is fake...seeing it just made me remember seeing the fake and wondering how to tell the difference.
Hurray - that you managed to enjoy the stuff and not bring it home to dust, i like the facebook page more than the article . . They are lucky YOU posted . . your story is best of all.
ReplyDeleteThe sign and the vase are great. I love shops like this one. Sometimes I will see something I like but then I think about the cats knocking in on the floor!!! Like you, I am trying to declutter and make keeping things clean a lot easier. Thank you for sharing the shop.
ReplyDeleteI made a pact with myself about nick nacks. It has to be the best thing I have seen since my last best thing I saw and I have to LOVE it or it stays at the store. I have saved lots of $$$ doing this. But when I find someone thing I have to have... well its coming home with me! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the sign! A friend of mine has a collection of Roseville and I don't think I could ever tell if one was a fake or not. That one is sure pretty, tho it wouldn't have come home with me either.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter collects pitchers, so she would have really loved that one. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSo tempting to bring more home- I know! I'm still trying to declutter and hope to one day downsize. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the sign ... But we live in tiny spaces, so it is easier to pass on stuff. We were full time RVers for over ten years (hence the name of my blog) . When we sold our largish home we got rid of a lot of stuff ( I visit some of it when we go to our kids). Anyway ... If I had a bigger house the sign would speak to me )))
