How about a sky show?

These are all shot within a few minutes...probably less than five.  I suggest that you click to expand the view!

They are very close to the same but I just couldn't pic which one I liked best.

Notice the area between the two wires over the tree abut the middle of the photo.

I tried to film it but it just didn't turn out any good...but it was like a bloom opening and then it blended right back in with the rest of the clouds.

And then it started to rain and blow in on us so we had to go in...otherwise I would have set out there till it ended.  I love to watch a storm...it was such a glorious storm.

  4. Like it and like to watch storms too. We sure need some rain here in south Texas. The Purple Sage has been blooming so I just knew we were going to get some but we didn't.

  6. clouds are one of my most favorite things to watch and take photos of in nature. clouds and trees... down here is we see clouds like this it means take cover. we are the lightning capital of the usa.. we had a preganant woman hit by lighting last week, she walked out in her back yard to see the storm clouds, she is home from hospital but the baby is not...

  10. Isn't sky watching just so much fun???? I love it too ---both when it is stormy or sunny.... As a child, I used to lie on the ground and make designs out of the clouds as they passed by... SO MUCH FUN.

    Great post.

  12. I love watching the changing clouds. I know what you mean by 'a bloom opening'. It does happen but cannot be filmed. We don't have big boiling thunder clouds out this way too much. Thanks for the show

  15. What a dramatic sky, and such great photos. They look so ominous; they'd look great on the book-jacket of a thriller.
