Bits...

We were at the girls' this weekend...Lorelei is so funny.

I wish I had taken a pic of Copper and Delta side by side...Copper is 3 or 4 inches taller I think.  He can just stand and look on the table...does not have to make an effort at all.

**********

It is slowy growing...but here I go again boring you to death with it.

************
I had such a pleasant surprise...a card and a letter and pics from an old friend.  She had printed pics of her mom and dad and  what would be a niece and nephew of hers and sent them.  Roger sure enjoyed seeing them.    Seemed like it came just when I needed a bit of an uplift.

***********You may not want to read the rest...it is a bit of whining.  Just needing to talk this out a bit.

I went to the dermatologist last week.  I have had a spot that becomes a little open sore for the past two or three years.  The results came back as basal cell cancer again.  Which is better than melanoma.  What is funny, is she never did get it numb to cauterize it.  I did not say anything after the second time cause it only took a second or two. It is NOT as big as a dime...maybe close to half that size. She smoothed it out she said...and it really does not look like anything.  But the next day, even my nose hurt where my glasses set.  The cancer is below the OUTSIDE corner of my eye.

When I took my glasses off and felt of my nose, it felt like it had been punched...was really sore for a couple days and then just stopped hurting.

This one has bothered me more than any of them since the first one.  It bled a bit once when I was cleaning it...i have not had one bleed after removal till this one.  I always remember with my father-in-law that that was not good...but it does seem to be healing.

I really don't know if there is any use of me staying out of the sun...but every time I am out doing something, I am wondering if I am causing more.  Part of me feels like now that I have had it, I will just keep getting it.

Well, friends if you are still reading...I hope you have a great week ahead.  We get our second shot on Thursday.

  1. Ugh ... skin cancer treatments are no fun. Been there, done that. Hope your spot heals up quickly.

Good luck with the second shot. I know you will be relieved to have it all done.

  3. So sorry about the skin cancer treatment. Hope it will heal properly and all will be well. Good idea to stay away from direct sun. Hope your second shot will go smoothly.

  4. So sorry about the cancer treatments. Do you think you should call the doc since it's different than before? I hope all goes well and without complication. I would definitely stay out of the sun as much as possible.

  5. your quilts are never boring. neither is Copper and Lorelei. the two of the peeking over made me laugh, that is what Beau looks like from the kitchen. just his eyes showing. he always gets hugs because he looks so cute. i did know the problem cancer is by your eye. i say if it keeps running go back and see the doctor. to close to the eye is not good. if mine was not numb the doc would know it immediately. i don't do pain... hope it heals soon.. now i wonder why it made the center of your nose hurt.. wear sunscreen and a hat or only go out early before 10 and after 3pm

  6. I can understand your concern about the carcinoma. It must be nerve wrecking to go through diagnosis and treatment every time it happens. I hope you can come to some peace of mind about it.

How wonderful you could spend time with your sweet young woman and the two huge pups.

    Yay for vaccines!

  10. It is certainly not whining to tell us about your basal cell cancer. I am so glad they caught it and have taken care of it. That is nothing to mess around with!

Lorelei always seems to be such a happy and fun girl! And of course those dogs are always so cute!

  11. I would be very apprehensive too if I were in your shoes. As Babbling Brook said, Don't hesitate to go back to the doctor if you think it needs more looking into.

  14. I would think that if it's not healing & returns, it's nothing that should be ignored. Get expert advice.
Lovin' the quilt work, and so enjoyed the photos of the two lights o' your life.

  17. Whatever it is, near the eyes it becomes difficult to remove.

  18. I find those treatments hurt (they never try to anaesthetize them, saying it only takes a few seconds). I have had serious melanoma (twenty years ago now), so I put up with the pain. I am inclined to think the sun seldom causes serious skin cancer - my worst ones have always been in places the sun seldom sees - but I do try not to be over-exposed (wear a hat, long sleeves etc. - I loathe sun screen). I feel they are probably at least partly genetic - my grandmother, aunty, father and brother have all had them, often multiple times.
I still carry scars from two spots that were accidentally treated twice, but I have never had one bleed. I hope that yours will heal up nicely (see a doctor again if you are worried). Sorry this is a long comment. I really hope you are better soon. Hugz, Mxx

  21. Awww, that dog and your granddaughter are something else! Very easy on the eyes. I am so glad you shared your "whining", not that I would call it that. Now we can include you in our prayers. My Roger had skin cancer close to his eye. By the time he got around to having it checked out it was quite deep and he was lucky the surgeon could remove I completely. So we have to be ever vigilant and proactive. πŸ’– As an aside, I most always comment on your lovely posts but more often than not they are returned to me marked "blocked". I wonder what is up with that? I hope this one goes through.😏

  22. I enjoyed your photographs.

Sorry to read about about the skin cancer. I do hope it will heal properly and all will be well, but perhaps get it checked out again if need be.

I hope your second vaccination goes well.

    Sending my good wishes.

    All the best Jan
