I have published this before, but it has been quite a while ago...probably 10 yrs or longer. I had to hunt for something to post. Since fall is approaching I thought this fit. ******************
Ever since Karen at Life is Good got her cordless vacuum and liked it, I have been thinking about one. I finally did it. I got one...not just like hers but a Dyson. It came yesterday, and I LOVE it. I got mainly for the hardwood floors part of the downstairs, and also the study and the formal dining room. Both have carpet but have to vacuum around a lot of stuff. Not a lot of carpet area to vacuum.
I tell you it is a game changer for me. I love the thing. But, I did attempt to vacuum this living room...using the strongest vacuuming setting. The battery died right before I got done. But it is a really big living room so I am not too upset. I had did what amounted to all the other on one charge, and it did fine. I had wondered if the weight would bother me, it weighs almost 6 lb...but I think it is easier than the upright. And sure is easier to get into tighter spots.
I know it is early days, and I may change my mind. But it was quicker and easier to do it. With the other vacuum, I have to deal with moving the cord 3 times...and it is heavier to push. Though I will probably still use it on the living room.
We have a little cordless, and love it!! It does get filled up quickly, so needs dumped often. And the battery does not last very long.
ReplyDeleteA friend recently got a Dyson cordless but found it too heavy and had to return it. She's older than you and has one arm that basically doesn't "work" so that makes a big difference. I hope you'll find yours useful.
ReplyDeleteI had a cordless one a while back. I can't remember what brand it was but not dyson. I didn't care much for it. Didn't hold a charge long and didn't pick up very well either. Whatever it was it was a cheaper brand.
ReplyDeleteanything to make life easier is my motto. bob hates dragging the cord around. it weighs a ton. but with the dog hair on old carpet it has to have heavy sucking for it to work. I might be able to use yours, I can't push the regular one without suffering with my back for days
ReplyDeletePretty fall image! A cordless vacuum is much nicer than having to keep moving that cord. Take care, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you got the perfect answer for your vacuum difficulties.
ReplyDeleteAnything that helps you accomplish the task is a win/win for me.

Could you show a picture of the one you got? I have been thinking about getting one and not sure what to look for.
ReplyDeleteI love my cordless vacuum, but keep thinking I should watch out for the cord. An extra battery would be nice.
ReplyDeleteMy sister-in-law recently purchased a cordless vacuum cleaner and she loves it.
ReplyDeleteI’ve never use a cordless vacuum and our old one does need replacing.
