I just love Snoopy....and think this is so fun. I did not buy it...don't know what I would do with it if I had it.
************ I took a generic Zyrtec evening before last...I feel my sinuses draining, and throat just always feels kind of scratchy and sore. I did not read about the medicine...Roger takes one every day. It is the last time I will take something without reading the side effects.
I was so sleepy all day long yesterday, even had nap where I knew nothing that was going on. I could do okay when busy, though thinking about when blowing off the patio, I really did not feel stable on my feet. I had the thought if someone saw me that might think I had been drinking.
Last night when I gave Roger his meds around 6:30, I got in bed and slept till he came to bed around 9:00 or a bit after. I laid there a while longer, got up to go to the bathroom, came in here and turned off the lights cause I had not told my daughter I was going to bed. I knew she would just figure I was doing somthing for Roger.
Then I thought I will read a while. So I did that but was soon sleepy again, so got back in bed and slept till around 4:00 I think it was...got up then and got in the recliner and slept till time for Roger's meds. I even laid back down a little while after that. But didn't sleep. But that is the most sleep I have had in a 24 hour period since Roger had his stroke and/or the first day after I broke my leg. I should have energy to burn but I don't.
I did think to look up Zyrtec and it can cause drowsiness till you get used to it. If I had read that beforehand, I would not have taken it. Anything like that just knocks me out.
I'd rather see Snoopy at Lowe's than those huge skeletons and zombies!
ReplyDeleteMedicine knocks me out like that too. It's worse than what it is trying to cure. I try never to take any.
Goodness! That did knock you out!
ReplyDeleteDo take care.
All the best Jan
PS I like Snoopy.
Wow! You sure had the full effect of that pill.
ReplyDeleteThat Halloween display is okay but $69 ? And where to store it for the next 11 months.
Oh goodness! I have taken a Zyrtec every day for many years, and never had any problems. But everyone reacts differently to medicines. Have you tried zinc lozenges, like Cold-Eze?
ReplyDeleteEveryone I know takes Benadryl to sleep at night. It doesn't make me sleepy at all...nothing does. May have been the Zyrtec or maybe you needed a good long catch-up sleep. When I do sleep like that, even without taking anything, I feel a bit zombie like afterwards.
ReplyDeleteThe snoopy decoration is cute. My daughter is a big Snoopy fan.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like any medicine that may cause drowsiness never has that affect on me.
I take a Z at 5 every day and have for years, we have allergies here year round. it does get better after a while, but I would not take one during the day. I don't buy the Z but generic also. I had asked Bob's cardio doc about him taking Benadryl to help him sleep at night a few weeks ago. bob says he hates them for the same reason you hated the z. doc said the Benadryl is good and if he takes one every night 2 hours before bedtime after a week he will not be sleepy during the day. he refuses to. I know different pills do different things to each of our bodies. at least now you know if you can't sleep there is a pill that will help.
ReplyDeletedoc also said, that Tylenol pm, is Tylenol with benadryl. did not know that. he said bob should take 2 Tylenol at wake up and 2 with 1 Benadryl just before bed time. he said taking Tylenol once a day and only one will not help him. I started putting the Tylenol in his pill box. he is sleeping better but refuses the benadrl
You really needed the rest! Maybe Zyrtec induced. I need a sleep like that!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your side effects, they can be very troublesome. Love the Snoopy decoration. I am a big Charlie Brown fan and have loved Snoopy and Woodstock for years. Hope you get more sleep too.
ReplyDeleteHUGE Snoopy fan. My new Halloween mug is Snoopy, Woodstock and a pumpkin. So sorry to read you're having all these sleeping obstacles.
