I suggest clicking to expand...every time I run across this photo I laugh. I think it was taken in 2011. It was out at the strip mining area. I did not know I had captured this till I downloaded my photos.
They were coming in for a landing on this pond of water, but they would get just within seconds of touching down and put the brakes on...and instead fly around in a circle and come back like they were going to land on the water, only to repeat. I don't know how many times they did that...at least 3 or 4 and this was one of the shots I took. They eventually just flew away. I never did understand what frightened them.
I have been busy all day but I can not tell you what has kept me busy. I did run to Walmart...but was there and back in about an hour exactly and the walmart I go to is 8 miles away. I did go upstairs and make my binding for the quilt, but still have to press it. I cannot wait to get it on the quilt till I can have hand sewing to do. Some people hate the binding part of quilts, but I love it...
Not long until bedtime..
What a rare and unusual photo!! Very cute, too!
ReplyDeleteVery strange behaviour those ducks(?) had.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. I wonder what was frightening them?
ReplyDeleteIs that one bird flying upside down?
ReplyDeleteOne of the birds looks to be upside down. Unusual!
ReplyDeleteA very unusual photograph.

That sounds like you hand stitch your blinding too. I did one quilt where I did the entire blinding on the machine, but I don't think they turn out as pretty as by hand. At least mine don't and I truly enjoy the peace and comfort that I get from hand stitching of any kind.
